  1. Have you ever been addicted to Mmos? Maybe spending to many hours mining gold on warcraft? Paid for that extra accounts and monitors so you could make a guild? Warcraft addiction is acknowledged but how about other Mmo games? Where is the line between gaming and addiction?

Wow that's hot! Sadly, I switched to American Eagle a few years ago, when I was in college

  4. Lifemate sounds a bit like soulmate, but a bit less spiritual. I wish "intimate" could be used more as the source word has a quality of bridging two people together as a couple rather than create a social custom, cultural institution, religious position, or emotional/sexual concept. Intimate is both an adjective and a noun, so why not? We use it too often to allude to sex, but intimate holds the meaning of bridging individuals together on different levels of understanding, both physical and mental in nature. However, calling your significant other "my intimate" seems a little dated in modern word choice.
  5. There's an area called Writers' Corner and Writing Workshop for story ideas, prompts, and general discussions on story structure at the bottom of the main forum page.
  6. Need to resist political baiting as I know what the wizard of oz was really about. (19th century American economic/politics with early 20th century stuff) Just for reference,The wicked witches represented two politicians of the same party and Dorothy wasn't wearing ruby slippers in the book. Alas, i promised not to get into politics until stories are done.
  7. I've been a huge fan of the old girl for years. An eerie fact about the titanic's destined doom, in 1898 American writer Morgan Robertson wrote "futility" about a British superliner named the titan, which was said to be nearly unsinkable, but sank due to an iceberg with insufficient life boats in April. Creepy huh? Also legends abound about titanic from curses due to improper launch without blessings to other things on crew members abound. As for relaunching a sister ship, probably easier to just take whatevers left of the Rms Olympic scattered around from it demolition as a base for it. I dub the new ship gigantic.

  12. Just found my old childhood storybook of mother goose rhymes, I didn't know they had so many innuendos and adult meanings until now. Here's one for folks about a horse shoe nail: For want of a nail For want of a nail the shoe was lost For want of a shoe the horse was lost For want of a horse the rider was lost For want of a rider the battle was lost For want of a battle the kingdom was lost And all for the want of a horseshoe nail
  13. Anyone saw the simpsons episode where bart accidentally causes a toad infestation in Australia back in the 90s? Now i know the cultural reference
  14. I miss the silver hair, but I think "new" Dante looks hot, too. Can I play with him now? Can't wait to see how the new fully charged power mode works.
  15. He stopped eating after learning how much pork was in food. I think he went vegetarian.
  16. Not joking, Warner Bros. remade the Looney Toons characters into a situational comedy for cartoon network. There's still lots of good laughs and good humor. Take a look at one of the episode Keep a close eye on Porky, he's my favorite breakout character on this show, since I am already a fan of Bugs: Part 1 (I usually skip the merry melodies music videos to part 2): http://youtu.be/njP6GIJaq5I Part 2: http://youtu.be/oO6u-tMVCbA So, what's up doc?
  17. I hope the hidden blade is still around. I wonder if we get to play with artillery in the third one too. (I love howitzers) Agreed with you all, it will be fun. Heck, maybe, they'll combine the present and past together into two storyline games to really mess up your perception of reality (a game with a sudden animus jump without an animus after you solve a certain puzzle in the present to unlock the memories of the past).
  18. I've wrote a very cold blooded and chilling scene and realize that I can be extremely dark if I choose to be. I've gotten a lot of comments in the past from readers that felt I tend towards darkness a lot in my story, but I never ask you guys, what type of darkness is it? Is it something that you guys like or something you guys fear? or a little bit of both? Then, I start reading and writing review of stories and find other authors with the same word in their reviews, "it's dark" or something to that effect. What is darkness to a reader? I mean darkness can be gothic horror based like vampire love stories, or it could be surreal issues, or maybe even, if I am writing the stories correctly for you to get my point, the darkness is in the mundane human actions. I think we are taught to believe that good things happen to good people, bad things happen to bad people. Karma is a bitch and such. However, what if the logic fails? Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. What does that make our choices and actions? In my view, Objectivism is a lie, created by purists seeking only the natural goodness in outcomes, perfection in design, and simplicity of nature. Evil will triumph and so will good, but it is based on probability and not some innate nature of good always winning. Darkness for me is reality within fiction, a cold chill that everyone has done the right thing in their point of view, but at the end, they are consumed by their choices whether for the greater good or ill.
  19. Hallelujah! It was an awesome story, touching, heartfelt, and beautiful on many levels. When even one Christian mother has cast off the chains of dogma to begin living and relating out of love for their fellow man, it's a day to celebrate. May the day come when that philosophy is not isolated, but flows naturally into all people's thoughts.
  20. lol!, Other than New York/Boston, Matt's picks are identical to mine, I must not be too far off then.
  21. It is truly amazing and spell binding. It also has some really interesting questions about ethics, human nature, and greed on an international and human scale. Margin Call (2011) was fun, aggressive, and highly entertaining: Jeremy Irons is such a great actor, plus you got Kevin Spacey and Demi Moore. I think Michael Douglas has good competition for Wall Street versus Jeremy Irons in Margin Call. I've put off watching this movie for a while, but another benefit of freeing up my time without the soapbox, I get to watch movies people have suggested to me. The concept of market securitization is a very complex issue in finance. From my point of view to be honest, almost all modern finance based on valuations with future values built into it are inherently not something I like from an accounting perspective, too volatile. Highly recommended for people wanting a good movie for the 2007-2008 meltdown.

    PC Games

Anyone here ever had LAN parties? I know it's a dated concept, but even in college back in 2008 with a group of friends, it can be fun. Games like Civilization IV and total war were awesome for LAN. Who knows, maybe if a group of us do meet up in Washington or wherever, we can try to do one on our laptops. Though, I warn you guys, beware my Russian Cossacks
