    A beautiful yet powerful story where the adage “looks can be deceiving” was readily apparent. Readers will enjoy Otis and Hudson’s journey traversing innocence, love, and tragedy.  This story is a fantastic read especially for those adventurous enough to experience a realistic view of innocence interacting with a chaotic world.

    This was a great coming out story. Tyler and Rufus navigated the perils of being true to self with each other and their community. Love and friendship were tested. Truth and motivation crystallized. Under the dark sky speckled with stars, the rollercoaster ride was well worth it.

    Life is not black and white, and this story elucidated that perfectly. A tragedy from one collided with another in spectacular manner. All lives were changed, yet a new beginning was realized for those affected.  Effective use of imagery and literary devices brought this tale to life.

    The characters were well developed, and the plot was entertaining yet serious. It revealed that it is an error to simply dismiss fantastical ideas as there may be some truth present within.  An overall great read and highly recommended!

    From the beginning, it was unclear how Levi and Jin would co-exist, but it was later revealed that they were very close several years prior. The characters and their trials felt realistic and flowed throughout the story. Surprises appear strategically and meaningfully. The story’s plot and characters were enjoyable.

Matt’s journey was traumatic, but realistically presented the unique challenges faced by gay people.  As with previous works by this author, the path of least resistance is rarely used. The characters traverse authentic trials and tribulations, and the ultimate outcome is left for the reader to imagine.

    April using multiple identities and Jett’s anger management issues stemming from trauma and traveling their path due to the consequences of their trauma was a great ride. Although childhood trauma experienced by gay men and women is an unfortunate common occurrence, the method in which the story navigates the journey was realistic.

    Sometimes, it takes an event like the disappearance of a true love or the unexpected birth of a child to force someone to address their trauma and come to terms with their true desires. Jett knew deep down that April was Theo, but he could not bring himself to deal with that reality despite struggling with Carina’s insight into whether he was simply using April as a doppelgänger of Theo. Childhood trauma can be a powerful resistance force even if reality is right in front of your face, literally.
