About 30 years ago, I changed my first and only diaper [UK: nappy]! My mother had her first grandchild over for the weekend for the very first time. She then volunteered me to watch him while she went to a meeting. I got lucky and the diaper was only wet, not dirty – and he didn’t spray me while I changed him! Apparently I did it correctly because it didn’t fall off or anything. ;–) My parents had misheard his mother when she told them she was trying to avoid giving him the pacifier [UK: dummy]. They thought she didn’t want them to give it to him at all. So we were trying to calm him down and stop him from crying without it. His mother had said she danced with him while listening to Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine’s 1-2-3, so that’s what I did. It didn’t really work, but he eventually cried himself out anyway. Fortunately, I liked the song and had the CD. ;–)

How many baby wipes will it take to sanitize that kid? ;–)

Plus these guys are in a completely different state from where they got their training and experience. The laws and expectations are very different in California compared with Alabama. (Thankfully, in my opinion!) ;–)

None of that sounds familiar to me. But my days of sifting through Nifty were probably 15-20 years in the past. And those weren’t genres I spent much time looking at… ;–)

He could still be a half-brother or cousin. Considering some of the things you’ve come up with, that wouldn’t necessarily be the top of your Messed-Up List! You’ve come up with some pretty convoluted plot lines… ;–)

Why do I have the horrible fear the Danny’s last name is Greene? :–( Does Elias have a cellphone to call for help? Even if he didn’t think authorities would believe him in the past, he now has a group of adults who would fight to protect him. Can he run before Danny traps him?

Is this why we used to get all those cute bunny gifs? ;–)

With a title like Fetch, I was expecting Jett to have adopted a puppy! An adorably cute little puppy with massive paws that will grow up to become the size of a small pony. I suppose the upcoming chapter, ‘Sit! Stay! Beg!’ will turn out to be Jett giving more commands to April… ;–)

I have slept (platonically) in the same bed on separate occasions with two of my best Gay friends at different times, so I know it’s possible. But I somehow can’t see Jett not succumbing to temptation if he sleeps in the same bed with April. I’m guessing that Jett has a rule about sleeping in the nude in his bed. ;–)

How long will Jett try to keep up the pretense that he’s straight? Will he still make that claim on his deathbed? Will Jay be burying his ‘straight’ dad and his Gay dad in side-by-side burial plots? ;–) I guess that will be after Jay has been feeding his straight dad in his final years…

Not at all, just trying to show some awareness that the world doesn’t revolve around the US and our celebrations. ;–) I’d eat most of that, but I don’t care for bell peppers. I am trying to figure out how they created the turkey’s head. It must be a really thick dip if it’s still holding its shape – I’d probably have sliced the top of a mushroom and used the dip to ‘glue’ the eyes, beak, and wattle to the surface. ;–)

It’s more than a month late for Canadians, but…

@KD_stories, there are a couple people who have annoyed me so much (most of them in The Pit) that I’ve blocked them. I’ve set things so I don’t get Notified when they Comment, Quote, Reply, or React to my posts. I’m only forced to see what they say when someone else Quotes them. It’s much less frustrating for me to visit GA after I made those changes. ;–) I still see that they’ve posted, but not the content (the content itself is hidden). Their Reactions are still visible to me. But because I ignore them, only one regularly Reacts to my Comments. This is a feature of GA software that I highly recommend.

I noticed, but didn’t phrase my Comment clearly enough. It was obvious that Peterson had done similar things to JJ in the past. JJ’s reaction would only have happened if he had be traumatized by things that Peterson had done previously. I don’t think Danny was aware of JJ’s abuse though, because I think Danny would have raised alarms. I don’t think he would have let JJ deal with it on his own. I’m thinking that Peterson picked on JJ after Danny was adopted because he became more vulnerable without Danny’s support.

Whenever people are given control over others, there is the possibility of abuse. It can be relatively minor, as with petty government clerks taking their time to fulfill requests. Or it can be as serious as physical or sexual abuse. Children are much more vulnerable than adults, but there are plenty of cases of elder abuse (which can include finances), abuse of the physically and/or mentally disabled, and prisoner abuse. Abuse can take the form of supervisors ignoring others who are doing the actual abuse. None of this diminishes the seriousness of the issues or the pain caused to each individual. I wouldn’t be surprised if Danny was at least somewhat aware of rumors about Graham Peterson. Even if none of the abused boys talked about it, there was bound to be gossip about Peterson. There would have been fear or at least discomfort about being around a pervert like him. This was probably the major reason why JJ ran away from the home.

My suggestion was black humor implying that Venice might float away… I’m not sure if Italy has completed work on the MOSE system, or even begun construction.

Not Moses who floated down the river? Things were force-fed to me in Sunday School too. Which is why I’m Agnostic. I believe that there are more than just single floors that have been abandoned over the years since Venice was founded. It is my impression that buildings in Venice have been settling for hundreds of years. Cities founded in swamps (including New Orleans) have to deal with this condition to a greater or lesser degree. Reclaimed land behind levees and dikes (like much of the Netherlands) also sinks over time. This is exasperated by rising sea levels due to Global Warming. :–(
