Julien, many states and the F.B.I. keep track of hate crimes incidents. Hopefully, that is all they are doing and not what was described in the article.....all too scarey for me to even think about..and very worrisome....but somehow, when it comes to this issue, why do I have my doubts that all that is being kept is statistics..... James....hang in there...it will be ok...I take my glasses off and am as blind as can be..so to pardon a quote from Bill Clinton, I feel your pain....glaucoma is always a worry for me and of course all of us...actually anything with the eyes..so I am sure with treatments and taking good care with a good eye doctor you will be fine.. My thoughts go out to you and with you........it will all be better..... and well, if not, something about Snow Dog coming by to comfort you with his tongue licking you all over and wet nose and some other such thing at least well would make you smile, cheer up and well, other such things that would get me bounced out of here..but pardon another bad pun *wink wink* it was nice of Snow Dog to offer..and well, um, I better end there before I get in worse trouble.. Hang in there James......you will be ok....we are rooting for you:) Michael

Most of the time, the cd player is too loud to hear the cell phone. But I don't put on makeup while driving, that's just so wrong. I have been known to read (but only at stop lights ). Sharon <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sharon...You are truly the best....I am still smiling and laughing..I never hear my cell phone either since either I have the cd player on loud or the radio loud (when I listen to Air America...its on a cheesey AM station where you can barely hear anyone..so you have to crank it up and in between your ears bleed from the crackling sounds..its like they are on a 1930s radio station) and like you I have been known to read at stop signs.... BTW you sound like you are doing very well with the cigs....two of my sisters smoke..one says she quit but I don't know (my niece rolls her eyes when my sister says that...so I have my doubts and my sister was a chain smoker..she took after my dad) so, hey less then a pack a week..is getting better......so take a bow...and be proud...you are on your way.....now as Snow Dog says, back to our sponsor......"smores with Hershey Kisses go better with kissing......scene to Jude and Quinn making out"....yummy:) oops..for some of us we will need to light up..or find someone to 'smore with:) yummy twice over:) Michael

Sharon.. LOL and ROFL...you know we attorney types...well this one anyone keeps his legal documents crisp and to the point..so, this is the one place, where I get to say more then a few words..and um sorry for making you all blinder then me in all that reading.. on that note, back to the crisp brief world of brief legalisms.... I am still picturing you barefoot, smoking a cigarette and putting on your makeup, listening to the radio, talking on the cell phone while driving... you do slay me and are sooo funny.. geez, even this isn't a brief post...(ok, you get to do the eye roll thing) Michael P.S. I wish I was paid by the word in my job......oh my, if that were only so!!

Ok...I will be brave...here are some of the musicians l like/love Like Sweet Mag, I am just wild about Show tunes I loved the old movies and old movies torch songs.. the show tunes, old torch songs and the likes of Barbra and Judy growing up made the Gay boy in me just very happy in my private little world......and still do! beyond that also: (and in no particular order) I Love: Barbra Streisand Judy Garland Cher Bette Midler Cyndi Lauper Madonna Billie Holiday Ella Fitzgerald Frank Sinatra....well his torch song years... Celine Dion Norah Jones Tori Amos Jewel Carol King (I can't wait to get her In the Living Room Tour..but my favorite is "Tapestry" still timeless after all these years..I wore it out as teenager) Janis Ian (her At Seventeen album I purchased when it first came out and all her albums which is way before she came Out) Natalie Merchant k d lang Tony Bennett Rufus Wainwright Emmy Lou Harris Shania Twain Elton John Sarah McLaughlin Linda Ronstadt Motown....what an amazing era! I am sure I leaving out tons...but those are a few..... I tend to love strong woman singers..and the old show tune standards.. heavy rock never did it for me..but I do love Motown....pretty much all of it... I have been impressed with what I have read...quite an amazing varied range of likes and groups and types of music Michael

Iuvart, I read that story last night and really was both freaked out and angry and sad...OMG, what next and where else is something like this taking place..why do I fear it is going in lots of places.....I hope that the practice ends and fast and of course the files are permanently destroyed, those that started this are disciplined or fired and laws are passed with severe penalties for this type of conduct...As an attorney, I saw that article and horrified doesn't begin to say it.....keep us informed if you hear any other developments... Michael

Dave and Chris, I am very very sure that you helped Alan's Mum...since she knows you both love Alan and that he will always be in your hearts and that he was and still is dearly loved. You said it best..she knows that her son is loved even in death. All of our hearts go out to you and Chris and Alan's Mum and all his family. I like to think and feel that our loved ones who pass become our Guardian Angels....so Alan is now one of yours....he will always be with you where ever you, Chris and Alan's family goes as he watches over you with love. Hugs and Sympathy, Michael

Kitty Well, I take that back partly. I do like their breakfasts. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kitty....just have Vic watch "Supersize Me" and I think he will change his mind...Mickey D's...yucko.....no less Burger King..... I am proud that I do know where the stove is, how to use it and of course the microwave above it:) and how to clean and do laundry....and I do love my Italian sisters....they are a comedy act, just as I am sure I am to them....and now I wouldn't trade them in for a brother..well most times...and I am sure there are times they would trade me in too...I still from the "so did you eat well today..did you eat any vegetables? those are important!" Michael

I read the punch line...I have 3 older sisters (grew up with also 2 older stepsisters.but that's another story). I had no brothers and I would threaten them to trade them all in for a brother (it didn't work) My sisters would remind me that they long ago gave upon on the men in their lives fixing anything, no less to do what is listed in the punch line..since the men in their lives couldn't find the stove no less light it. no less find out where a light bulb is and no less even know how to make a cup of coffee..and whenever I am over their homes its true (well one brother in law can cook..but he uses and I mean uses every pot and pan in the house to make anything and he is the brother in law who built a house with his brothers for his parents...but 20 yrs later it still has parts undone....just the way his and my sister's house is....parts renovated but still undone) Me, I know I am not handy, but I learned a long time ago how to get by...or else, if one of the sisters were to stop by and things weren't in order I would get the "what for" and that ain't pretty..trust me....I love them dearly but I still say at times, "thank God for caller I.D. and voice mail/answering machines...its called Italian avoidance, which leads to eternal Italian/Catholic Guilt add to that and add even further is the fact I am their only brother and Gay!!! I still have one sister who can't say the word.....no, not Italian....the word "Gay"....honest, no joke...I just do the eye roll thing when she tries and tell her you can say it....or if she asks about (rare she will ask if there is someone (boyfriend/partner/husband..words that she can't say either) in my life at the moment....all I can say is Italian Sisters....and Italian Mothers...Aunts, Grandmothers, Cousins...well, Dom gave you an example, I just gave a few more....) Well, at least I am ROFL..I can't account for the rest of you!) so, I know better then laugh...like Dom's sisters they would give me the what for....learned that early on as a boy.... Dom and I can tell you about Italian sisters and Mothers......they make Grandma Alice look tame, amateurish and like a school girl in comparison. on that note, back to work I go:) I feel better now....geez, Snow Dog your joke evoked some good therapy there. Michael

Dave and Chris, Big Hugs from across the Pond and lots of Sympathies..hold onto each other and remember that Alan will always be with you in your memories and in your heart. My sympathies to Alan's family and I hope that you can cry, even laugh at the good times, and just take care of each other as you grieve Alan's untimely passing. We will be thinking of you, Chris and Alan's family. Again, my deepest sympathies and lots of hugs at this sad time. My thoughts go with you. Michael

Lurker...when I read Myr's post that we can change colors....I swtiched to Green (Dom's forum I think is permanently brown) I like the Green...makes me think of Kermit the Frog..but the blue is cool too....and Snow Dog calling Green freakish....ROFL.......I thought dogs only saw shades of black and white..... who knew we had variety.....thanks Myr:) Michael

While we are adding to the Movie Gossip List: rumors of the following thought to be Gay: Tom Cruise: "I know the history of Psychiatry Matt and Matt, Matt, Matt you are so glib" (but probably thinking, oooh I have the hots for you Matt......") well at least Matt is a hottie....Tom, my fellow New Jerseyian...come out come out you will feel much better.....and leave Brooke Shields alone...you rock Brooke..great editorial in the NYTimes.....and a great bitch slap to Tom...I always said if we men gave birth...well, the Earth would have ended with Adam.....we man can't handle pain.....and Tom you can't handle the truth (sorry had to steal that line from you, Jack) _________________________ Leonardo Di Caprio and Toby Maguire (rumored to be lovers) Jonathan Taylor Thomas Jake Gylelahaal (Maggie's older brother) Peter Sarsgaard (he was on the front cover of the Advocate and says he isn't Gay..just Gay friendly) --------- not rumored to be Gay since he is Out...Rupert Everett __________________ Sandra Bernhardt....well, she is Out.. ____________________ then lets not forget Ellen DeGenerges and her new main squeeze, Portia di Rossi _______________________ I still say Justin Timberlake is Gay....and who else from any of the Boy Bands. __________________________ Clay Aiken from "American Idol" ______________________ who can forget Eddie Izzard......and Graham Norton...two very funny comedians...the Brits are such wits! ___________ I am sure we can all think of more...but its late here so my brain is on time for sleep mode. ________________ Movie Guy and all who added to the list....its a fun topic as we wait for our various famous Gay Authors to post or are reading their famous chapters.....I still say Dom's TOU should be made into an independent film...and of course TLW...... and Matt wherever you are...well your current hot story would do just fine:) I look forward to reading more posts on this fun topic:) Michael

Myr, did you forget Tammy Baldwin? Congresswomen from Wisconsin, who ran as the first Out candidate for Congress and won! (Barney Frank and Gerry Studs came Out after they were in Congress) btw..thank you for that amazing list and I agree James Dean was very dreamy, as were Montgomery Clift and Rock Hudson..all of whom starred in the same movie together with Elizabeth Taylor, their very close friend and a Gay icon for all she has done for AMFAR, in the 1950s movie "Giant" Michael

Kitty..add to that is the Creator of Quark...the graphics art stuff that all graphics art people use (I forget his name...and if anyone can remember..he has created a Foundation for GLBTI causes and lives in Colorado...it is late and my brain isn't function..but I think his first name is Peter..and as an Out gazillionaire he has done much for the GLBTI Community) Michael
-
Patrick, I don't know if its true but I have heard (and I really believe it to be true) that Vin Diesel is Gay....and all is can say is "Woof" and "Yummy" and I sure hope so..one for our team! Michael
-
Chad Allen is Gay and Out and proud....I met him at a 2002 GLBTI Rally in 2002 in NJ...he is short and I thought he would be tall..but he gave an amazing speech..along with Rue McClanhan from the Golden Girls...it was a rally for Senator Frank Lautenberg......Rue received a several minute standing ovation.... Chad Allen has his own theater group and does a lot of work on suicide issues for GLBTI Youth, along with Greg Louganis, since both said they dealt with severe depression and suicidal thoughts as teens... Chad Allen has been the featured front page article in The Advocate at least twice..I think he is a cool guy (besides being cute and hunky:) Michael

Shadows... see, Snow Dog, is just a big puppy.....and he is sooooo Rainbow Puppy like and he doesn't even know it..and I have to tell you....he has made me realize, he is just a cute snuggly puppy who goes "arrf" so we pet him and give him some fun and we get fun from him...he is kinda cute and sweet.....and funny and pretty smart..he just plays big old tough..we all know better:) so, come out and play Snow Dog:) despite Mark saying he just wants us to tell him he is needed...well, so be it..he is and geeez, now that the Soap Box is shut down....all we get to do is read so we better create some amusement so Snowy Puppy Dog comes out and plays.....Kitty, have you heard any puppy paws coming down the hall....haven't heard any here either...... oh well, hopefully Snow Dog will return:) Michael
-
Yep, a little TOU nookie will do it every time. *checks watch* Hmmm ... it's been 3 hours and 15 minutes, and we still don't hear any puppy paws coming down the hallway. I'm starting to get concerned. Kitty <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kitty, fear not..our Snow Dog is hanging out in the Blogs and sent the nicest blog post to Dom's Number One Fan: our Mikie....it was very Rainbow like of Snow Dog...well Mikie's post brought tears to my eyes and so did Snow Dog, who made me all phfklempt...(he even added in his stylistic Snow Dog response to Mikie's very str8 Big Bro...so I know our big Puppy is doing just fine.....he is just probably sunning himself while he corrects the typos in his thesis....his paws working away on the typewriter and keeping in his mind the Jude/Quinn scene in Ch 14 while he chases Vic around the yard in between growling about typos and such. Michael
