The earlier CAP stories were more plot driven as opposed to character driven. Also, it's not like Jake was all that established of a character. Nowadays Mark writes longer stories and the characters get more time to develop. It's kind of amazing how different standards of behavior were in the 1960's and 70's.

Chapter 8 -At the 4th of July fair, where Brad meets Billy's look-alike Robbie, and becomes immediately smitten. "Brass in Pocket" by the Pretenders

Wade is honestly a great character. I kind of get a kick of out how, despite how wealthy and fabulous the Cramptons/Schluters of California are, Wade is always going to be just a little higher up on the blue blood food chain. My favorite line from Wade is the one in Bloodlines where Wade dismisses the Kennedys as nouveau riche political posers and takes umbrage at the Danfields being compared to them by Matt. LOL My current fancast for Wade is Nicholas Galitzine from that gay prince/bisexual First Kid movie on Amazon. He mixes the prettiness/prissiness of Wade quite well, yet he also looks like he would be believable as a jock. Mark also likes Taylor Zakhar Perez for Darius, and I do as well. So I'm just going to pretend this is CAP fanfiction where Wade is prince and Darius is bisexual and they fall for each other. LOL

Bar none, my favorite "and they lived happily ever after" was the ending of Matt and Wade's story at the end of Flux. What a lovely happily ever after moment, and a great way to send off the characters into the soap hereafter. (Well, for the most part.) I also liked Stefan and JP finally finding each other at the end of If It Fits, and Max Granger finding love with Father Tim. They seemed so well suited to each other. I also liked how Mark essentially set JJ off into a pretty good place at the end of Black Widow- a city he loves, finally finishing up high school, a cool internship or whatever he wants to call it with Not Anna Wintour, a great friendship with John Carullo, and a bestie/girlfriend with Zanie. Kid had enough trauma- I'm glad Mark set him up with a pretty decent happily ever after. I would have said the ending of Millennium with Brad and Robbie but...well...unfortunately things didn't stick. LOL I don't think Mark has really given Will a "happily ever after" yet because he's still the main protagonist so he kind of can't. LOL

Chapter 7 -When Brad and Lark get together. "Rise" by Herb Alpert -When Brad and Jake go riding, and eventually confide in each other. "Against the Wind" by Bob Seger

Chapter 6 -When Brad has a rebound hookup with Jake, who Claire points out as like totally being gay. For sure. "Take Your Time" by SOS Band -When Brad finally gets what he's been lusting for after all these years. "Running With the Devil" by Van Halen

Chapter 5 -Brad getting his revenge on Doug at the party. "Enola Gay" by OMD

Chapter 4 -When Brad gets screwed over by Doug. "Boys Don't Cry" by The Cure

Chapter 3 -When Doug and Brad hook up. "Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward -When Stefan and Greg take Brad and co to Jackie Diamond's Hollywood party. "Funkytown" by Lipps Inc.

Sweet Valley High and the Babysitter's Club prepared me for the semi-floating timeline. Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield have been 16-year old twins in a rich Santa Barbara-like town for forty years now. Meanwhile, Kristen and her rag tag team of Babysitters have been 12 since 1986. LOL I can see us having a time jump whenever Mark decides it's time for Will to settle down and to focus on Riley Danfield's teenaged angst circa 2016. lol

You seem stuck on Will legally being a minor. I bet you wish you could have sent Will to Upward Bound instead of Australia. Lol

He does benefit, however, from not having to deal with the generational trauma of being a Hayes as he was lucky enough to get adopted by a sane, stable, and wealthy family.

I do get a kick out of how Mark has written JJ like he's in a 2000's romantic comedy, while Will is always written into the romantic life or death drama stuff.

They technically have to, but I'm assuming they'll spend their weekends at Wade, Tiffany, and Matt's house if they don't like their "house." (Harvard seems to call their dorms houses.) I'm just hoping we get a scene of them watching Love Story. There's supposedly a campus tradition where freshman screen Love Story and make fun of it. The movie caused significant damage to Harvard campus which is why they don't allow filming movies or tv shows now.
