See, the funny thing is, I think JJ is actually an enigma. He's a snotty bitch but you really don't really know much about him because he keeps everything close to the vest. Whereas Will wears his heart on his sleeve because he's so passionate and reactive.

I swear to God I think your fantasy CAP story ending would be Will getting marched off to boot camp for out of control teens on Sally Jesse Raphael.

Meanwhile, JJ's safe hiding space is figure skating, so having Will be around and taking up all the attention is a massive annoyance for JJ. Although thankfully Will is going to move on to the next thing and JJ can go back to his pursuit of being on a Wheaties box after winning big in the '06 Olympics.

I prefer to think of Will as a Coquette.

I think Will was still over six feet tall. He was mostly done growing by the time he was 14. The idea that has been reiterated repeatedly is that Will looks like a 17/18-year old at the age of 14. You know, I once tried to talk Mark into doing a storyline where JJ hit an unexpected late growth spurt (picture Chris Colfer on Glee) that completely fucked up his balance and coordination but Mark decided that he liked JJ being short. And I was like, "Well damn, I can't live vicariously through that." One time there was this poster who seemed to be complaining about me giving Mark ideas and that I somehow was "controlling" the story and my response was, "You honestly think I could ever talk Mark into doing something he doesn't want to do? If I could CAP and current human time would have caught up like in 2013."

With Matt it's not that hard to figure out why, though. He's a handsome guy with a bangin' body, charismatic personality, and they got that Blue Blood thing in common.

I've been trying to get @PrivateTim to read JWolf's English Year. If he loves hating the CAP saga lead characters so much, he's going to have a field day with Corbin! Or The List and the sequel The Funny Thing Is. I feel like it kind of taught me a lesson that I can't advise a twenty something author on how to write like a 40-something dude with teenaged kids if I myself was all of 27. Lol

True, but Jamie Bell totally did it for me in Rocketman and an indie he did called Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool, so eh. We could also consider Robert Pattinson or the big one Henry Cavill, who was still in his twink stage. LOL, that's a bit worrying there. LOL

It's a soap. Matt and Wade got their happily ever after and were written off. Matt may as well not exist, at least for now.

Chapter 11 -When Brad watches JP and Stefan get together. "You Make Loving Fun" by Fleetwood Mac -When Brad has some fun, cheap meaningless sex with Lark. "Makin' It" by David Naughton -When Tonto decides that Robbie needs to get the hell out of Ohio, and they beat a hasty retreat, ending in Chicago. Chapter 10 -When JP and Sam decide to break up for good, but quietly leave to have one more time together. "Brokenhearted Me" by Anne Murray -When Robbie tells Brad on the phone that he can indeed come up to California, leaving Brad floating on cloud 9. "Be My Baby" by Shaun Cassidy

Chapter 9 -When Robbie drives Brad to the beautiful Crampton homestead. "Cars" by Gary Numan -When JP gets a massive sense of deja vu when seeing Billie and Robbie standing next to each other and the 1968 El Dorado. "Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procul Harem -When Brad and Stefan see Jake and Sam having sex with each other, and Brad is furious while Stefan calms him down. "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac -When Brad hugs Robbie, and he's officially obsessed. "Heaven Must Have Sent You" by Bonnie Pointer

The earlier CAP stories were more plot driven as opposed to character driven. Also, it's not like Jake was all that established of a character. Nowadays Mark writes longer stories and the characters get more time to develop. It's kind of amazing how different standards of behavior were in the 1960's and 70's.

Chapter 8 -At the 4th of July fair, where Brad meets Billy's look-alike Robbie, and becomes immediately smitten. "Brass in Pocket" by the Pretenders

Wade is honestly a great character. I kind of get a kick of out how, despite how wealthy and fabulous the Cramptons/Schluters of California are, Wade is always going to be just a little higher up on the blue blood food chain. My favorite line from Wade is the one in Bloodlines where Wade dismisses the Kennedys as nouveau riche political posers and takes umbrage at the Danfields being compared to them by Matt. LOL My current fancast for Wade is Nicholas Galitzine from that gay prince/bisexual First Kid movie on Amazon. He mixes the prettiness/prissiness of Wade quite well, yet he also looks like he would be believable as a jock. Mark also likes Taylor Zakhar Perez for Darius, and I do as well. So I'm just going to pretend this is CAP fanfiction where Wade is prince and Darius is bisexual and they fall for each other. LOL

Bar none, my favorite "and they lived happily ever after" was the ending of Matt and Wade's story at the end of Flux. What a lovely happily ever after moment, and a great way to send off the characters into the soap hereafter. (Well, for the most part.) I also liked Stefan and JP finally finding each other at the end of If It Fits, and Max Granger finding love with Father Tim. They seemed so well suited to each other. I also liked how Mark essentially set JJ off into a pretty good place at the end of Black Widow- a city he loves, finally finishing up high school, a cool internship or whatever he wants to call it with Not Anna Wintour, a great friendship with John Carullo, and a bestie/girlfriend with Zanie. Kid had enough trauma- I'm glad Mark set him up with a pretty decent happily ever after. I would have said the ending of Millennium with Brad and Robbie but...well...unfortunately things didn't stick. LOL I don't think Mark has really given Will a "happily ever after" yet because he's still the main protagonist so he kind of can't. LOL
