  1. Chapter 31 -When Will convinces Brad to talk it out with Jake, and they walk down the hall together. "Have A Little Faith in Me" by Mandy Moore

    Chapter 30

It was really hard to look at him the same way after the nastiness with Will during the emancipation.
  3. Chapter 29 -When Will finds Brad at rock bottom. "Vienna" by Ultravox Chapter 30 -When Brad and Jake go over the stuff leading to their break-up. "Fallen" by Sarah McLachlan God, I've been waiting for this one. I don't think I've ever found a place for this one until now. Of course, this song wasn't out until the fall of 2003 so I had to wait a while to use it anyway. LOL

    Chapter 28

I think the one way I could see it happening is a situation like Yelp, where they located their company to Arizona because their employees couldn't afford San Francisco. Like if Will owns an app or something and he realizes his employees can't afford to live in the Silicon Valley so he moves them to a more affordable area.

    Chapter 28

Will is a tried and true California boy. I'm not sure I could see him being happy living anywhere else except possibly Australia or Hawaii. School's a different deal, though. You need to experience living away from the culture you grew up in at least once. The culture shock I got from my two years of living in Western PA after growing up in the Delaware River Valley was something I'm never going to forget, and I'm glad I experienced. I'd kind of love to see Will make friends with a total tried and true New England brahmin, though. It'd be cute. I've tried and failed to see Will hopping on the "Californians are moving to Texas or Arizona" train that's so big right now in the 2020's. (Or Idaho. I sure as hell can't picture Will ever living in a place like Idaho.) The only way he'd do it is if Stefan, JP, and Brad decided to move the family company to like Austin or something. He'd really miss being coastal, though. I'm not even really a beach person let alone a surfer guy but there was something weird about living in-land when for the mass bulk of my life I've never lived more than 90 minutes from a beach/coast. Like, seagulls are a totally normal thing but when I lived around Pittsburgh I was taken aback when I realized I never saw any around.
  6. I just realized that Manu Rios from Elite is close to how I pictured the Mexican teenager that the family took in during If It Fits which was set in 1995. He would be Matt and Wade's age in the story now and I'm totally blanking on his name.

    Chapter 28

JJ not having access to his principal makes sense- he's bought stuff but not anywhere in the kind of league that Will has. JJ has, for the most part, lived a pretty tightly controlled existence and I can see the family being worried about him going off the rails and being stupid with money because he doesn't really seem to have any business sense.. If this is Bridgerton, JJ is Benedict, the guy who kind of just lolls around because he's got money and doesn't really have to think about where it comes from or how to maintain it/add on to it. I kind of wish JJ had Benedict's sense of fun and whimsy, though- JJ's more uptight like Anthony Bridgerton. He does makes me think of the line from Mad Men where Megan's mother says something along the lines of her daughter having an artist's temperament but not the actual talent. Ouch. (I mean, JJ's artistic talent WAS figure skating, but you can't paint with them. Supposedly JJ is also supposed to have a decent singing voice, although nothing that could get him onto Broadway, I don't think.)
  8. Chapter 28 -When Will and Patrick have a nice little moment before Will goes back to California. 'There She Goes" by the La's -When JJ decides to cosplay as an AbFab character. "The Absolutely Fabulous" theme song. Duh. -When Will goes over his decision to invest in Facebook with Stefan. "Baby, You're A Rich Man" by the Beatles
  9. Mark, can we have Jacob Elordi look like someone? Mainly because I get a kick out of how he's such an adorable, gentle giant puppy dog in real life while he's so good at playing a cold psychotic bastard. LOL I still cannot get over how many good-looking men Australia has produced for the world to enjoy. It's between them and Dallas, Texas. LOL
  10. Chapter 27 -Will's jailbait anthem moment. "Seventeen" by Winger God, I am so glad we're at the point in the story timeline where 80's music was cool again. I love the 80's, deep down in my soul.

    Chapter 26

SoHo it is then. By 2004 it was pretty much just elite snobbery, right? I think all the actual, real artists were chased out by then.
  12. methodwriter85

    Chapter 26

True. I imagine he's going to hang out in Hell's Kitchen a lot. That seems to be where the artist community is/was in Manhattan. I can't see him with the stock exchange crowd in any way, shape, or form.

    Chapter 26

If he were willing, he could probably just buy an entire building in Brooklyn. But then, he'd be in Brooklyn. Then again, Brooklyn is becoming very hip, so maybe.

    Chapter 10

I get it. We're pretty close in age (I'm 36 and I think you're about 33, right?) and it's really hard to get back into the mindset of a 20-year old. 25, I could do it. But 20? Especially a 20-year old like Becker who is so deathly afraid about appearances and what people think about him? Honestly, he reads more like a 16-year old at times. LOL

    Chapter 10

Honestly, I like this as an ending, because I feel like the revelation about what was essentially Kevin's mentor being stuck on death row after he lost all his hope feels like the final piece of understanding who and what Kevin is at 22 years old. This is essentially what the story was, right? It feels complete to me.
  16. Also congrats are in order for the LA Rams making it to the NFC Championship! Is it weird that I want to do a beer bong with Sean McVay? LOL
  17. Hey, congrats on Jimmy G (aka my John Carullo fancast) and the 49ers getting to the 2022 NFC championship! Now all that needs to happen is for the Bills to upset the Kansas City Chiefs.
  18. Chapter 17 -When Will comes home to Escorial. "California" by Phantom Planet
  19. He hasn't visited this website since last October, it seems like. Hopefully he's alright. I think he's probably is. Honestly, internet dropoff is pretty common, especially on a board that's like sixteen years old. I still miss seeing Blue post, but it's been like 5 years. Personally I think he's fine as well. The one that really worries me though is a guy that used to post here, a very long time ago. We're talking like "Obama was a new president" long ago. We were close to the same age and he was a CAP fan. I'll call him Aidan. Aidan was a college kid struggling with a variety of mental and physical health issues, not to mention being closeted and all that. He abruptly stopped posting here in late 2009. I really hope he's good and happy wherever he is, but it's a reminder that internet relationships just can't be like offline ones, because if something happens to someone you know in real life, you'll find out, whereas in an e-friendship, something can happen and you'll never know. Or nothing happens and people just moved on and you still will never know.
  20. Chapter 15 -When Will realizes that Connie lied, and steals his jacket to get his attention. "Blue Monday" by New Order or "What Is Love?" by Haddaway Pick either one. I couldn't decide. -When Connie gets mushy with Will. "If You're Not the One" by Daniel Beddingfield I knew I was going to use this one. Just needed the right moment for it, but there hasn't been a moment this sentimental in CAP for awhile. Will generally avoids the flowerly emotions now compared to the 14-year old Will, and JJ seems to loathe sentimentality like the good little WASP boy he is. -When Will and Connie end the chapter making up in a really fun way. "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" by Kylie Minoque
  21. methodwriter85

    Chapter 9

    True.
  22. Chapter 14 -When Will wistfully thinks about Connie. "I'll Never Find Another You" by the Seekers -When Will has sex with a sales boy. "Dress You Up" by Madonna
  23. methodwriter85

    Chapter 14

There's never been a CAP character more suited for New York City than JJ. LOL.

    Chapter 9

I really don't want to be presumptuous about your background but there is so much you have nailed about growing up in a chaotic, troubled household and the way it effects you trying to survive it. You are always waiting for the other shoe to drop and for people to let you down because your parents never came through for you. Kevin essentially setting up this romantic visit with Becker as a goodbye makes so much sense within the context of a guy who does not expect people to stick around. It also makes sense that he feels so deeply for Becker but Becker never really realized it because Kevin is so guarded. Your work is so nuanced and interesting.
  25. My JJ pick looking adorable.
