Well, Hell, I have to wonder what the emergency is; it better be good to have interrupted that... I am glad to see the back of Mr Carmody, I really think he would have continued to disrupt the ship.

Damn, that was a rough way to start the voyage but it had to be done. I do worry about Carmody as well, have to wonder how long he will last. Calvert was quite brave to be that forward with a new Captain but it does say something about him...

Well, off to India, that would be a death sentence for some as the trip was long and hard and the disease you encountered once you reached there was one that made it hard for those not use to the climate... Glad to see that Granger and Caroline are still getting along.

George has a son... Jeffers is waiting naked in his bed for him... Lucky lucky man...

Glad to see that Granger is not going to act like so many landowners of that era; those that choose to do what they could to improve the estate and the lives of the workers ususally ended up in better shape anyway. The problem is that so many just wanted to money and did anything they could to maximize the returns without any additional investments.

Granger had to play to three very differnt audiences but handled all three with a skill unusual for someone of his age, even those with like advantages. I really enjoy seeing Granger handle himself in these type of situations.

Granger is home and with his family. Great to see that he and Caroline are still connecting so well. Granger also is going to do what he can to make sure that the action is portrayed in the best light possible.

Well, at least Granger understands that he will need to get the information on the ships so that when he gets to England; he can give a better accounting of himself.

Hood is showing a lot of faith in Granger and his ability. Not just in getting the fleet back to England but in making the necessary explanations that will be needed. Wel, a new person for Granger to try and help. I have to wonder if this isn't going to be something Granger is going to always be doing..

So sad to lose Mr Shafte like this, especially since it was because the Spanish were not prepared to do their jobs... Granger handled himself well, but what more could anyone expect.

Of the two coming to realize something, I think that Travers had the biggest revelation. It seems strange to me that he would not have already realized the extent that Granger's family would have played in getting him his promotion. Granger knows that he needs to be more careful and think of the consequences of his actions, but his lower head over-rules his brain some.

I am not sure who was luckier, Jeffers or Granger... I like how Granger seems to understand just how to handle each situation. He is as comfortable, at least outwardly, with his on class as he is with those below and above him.

Well, it seems that Jeffers is the kind of man to make any bottom happy. I do have to say that I enjoy Granger more as a bottom than as a top. Granger was smart enough to know that the Admiral was up to no good. With Chilton's assist, it appears they will at least have a edge on the prize money.

George loves John but he will never be able to keep it in his pants. I am not sure that sleeping with Chilton would be a good idea, they are both sort of bottoms anyway. Chilton might just fixate on him instead of Travers

A command, even if temporary, would be grand for Granger... He so deserves this. I hope their ploy works. Chilton just came to realize one of the hardest things anyone ever has to go through, you can love someone but it doesn't mean they will love you back in the same way...

It is just amazing to me that a Captain would go up against a popular Admiral like that even on his own ship. It would be a blow to him to have the Admiral move his flag to another ship or remove his as Captain. Damn, doesn't Granger just meet up with the most interesting people....

This was in many ways a really sad chapter. Shafte will probably not ever really recover from this ordeal. It will taint his service and weigh on his mind for some time to come. Granger has to realize the issues he faces with this as well.

This may either help Granger and his reputation or it will tarnish it and he will have to overcome the situation. It probably depends on how it plays out. I have to wonder if the attitude of the others on the ship's staff will improve or will there be further issues???

So, Granger is going to be a father. This will make for an interesting side story at some point. I have to admit I like the fact he is married, in that day and age, you basically had to be if you were in his position to help push the family forward.

Well, I have to wonder what Blackwell's connection to Author is? It is obvious that there is something else going on just beneath the surface but unsure what it is... I am in awe of how well Granger just adapts to the situation. He just goes with the flow and knows just what to do and say...

Damn, what is the odds that Granger would end up in the same room on the same ship as Robey. I do have to wonder what the full story was with Travers and Robey. I do so appreciate how well Mark handles blending history with his story. It is just masterful.

Granger has all the right instincts. This will serve him well in the future. He really is too junior to have kept command. I do hope that he stays with Hood a while and gets some more seasoning...

Well, this will take a fine touch and a careful probative manner to get to the truth with those involved. I have to wonder what all Granger will have to do to get this resolved.

Well, there maybe hell to pay for saving the American ship but no good deed should be passed up. It will make the Americans happy and maybe help something on that front down the line...
