Wonderful chapter, like how something innocent turned a little educational and intimate. Glad that Henry can at least defend himself somewhat, maybe not up to orc standards but still.

Chapter 14 For The Love Of Him

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 16 - Aug. 22)

Fella in Red does work perfect. LOL, had never thought of that one. As always, thanks for the recap. I do hope to see tomorrow how badly my guesses were. LOL. I read so many of those authors, but I can never tell. LOL -
The Search And Contact
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in The Search And Contact
Finding anyone, even in the computer age in one day with no more than he had to go on, especially someone high ranking in the army is nothing short of a miracle. The Major seems like a good man, he may or may not believe Kurtis is his; but at least he isn't having a young boy spend Christmas alone, and he let him bring his dog. Really like Lt. Cynthia, she kicks ass. -
Miles is home and moving forward. A few new rules, that honestly, all make sense. Dealt with the bank and the trust, and getting set up in school. Some changes in the house, having your own room to retreat to is a must, I never understood how anyone shared a room, especially at that age. Can't wait to see where you take this next.

Julian already shows some growth since leaving San Francisco, and nothing shows that growth will abate. He seems to understand at least a little the sea and how a ship lives and breathes while at sea; that is very rare for someone that has never been to sea before. Obviously, Julian has taken Sam into his confidence with regards to some of what he wants to accomplish in Hawaii. And talking to the captain and getting his input and ideas is a step in the right direction. I know Julian has the money that his grandmother provided him; and that is enough that if played right to make him an important businessman in not just Hawaii, but the Pacific, if things were to go right. I do wonder how much authority he will have on the plantation, he is the owner's son, but was banished and sent there as punishment, not to truly enhance the business. Julian might be better off trying to go it on his own, if the coffee plantation and those in charge of it now are not open to his ideas and suggestions. Julian and Sam are on the verge of moving this new relationship forward in a big way; they risk things as well. Few things ever stayed a secret on a ship like that in that time; and they both need to think about the fact that Julian's father could well have a spy on board, definitely not the captain, but someone else.

Charlie’s confidences
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Charlie’s confidences
Alex and Neil are progressing nicely. But I am so glad that Charlie seems to be making a few decisions about his own life and how he wants to lead it. He realizes that he will need help and advice; but he also needs to be able to make some decisions on his own and live with the consequences of those decisions. This story just keeps getting better and better -
Freaking nightmare, Travis truly is probably not going to remember much if anything, but you can be damn sure that Kendo will make sure this isn't the only time this happens. Will is going to be so pissed; but will he realize what Kendo is doing, or is he going to hear or see something and react without knowing that Travis truly isn't in control of his own body. I wish I could buy some life insurance for Kendo with me as the beneficiary....

The Void, Void Beasts and their Rifts
centexhairysub commented on Celian's story chapter in The Void, Void Beasts and their Rifts
Some good information. When is the time frame of this information being provided in regard to the timeframe of Thokk and his studies. -
Levi has taken the first steps, and he is opening up and being honest with everyone, even Casey. I hope he holds to the fact that he does not want Casey in his life anymore. I see nothing redemptive in Casey, or at least nothing that we have seen. Levi has taken the first step, but none of them will be easier for a while, he has to make up a lot of ground with a number of people.

Well, that was easier than it would have been in reality, especially with that amount of money involved. It is always amazing how some people that have money are super tight and live like a miser, I know you want to be smart with money, but live a little, don't make yourself and those around you miserable. Surprised we are not going by to see at least one certain friend and make sure that his mother didn't kill him as well.

Chapter 13 Not So Lucid
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 13 Not So Lucid
I am sort of like @sandeman, is this all a dream? If not, told you Dale was evil. -
Well, Thokk has proved much more devious than I would have ever given him credit for... The invitation for Henry is no surprise, but this is a real opportunity for him, he could give him some truly extraordinary chance to learn skills that he would never have on his own. I don't think that Gash is as surprised as some would suspect he should be.

Julian's first day at sea proved interesting. He grasps the basics of the sail work, and the names of the lines easier than many that have much more experience at sea than he. The Captain was pleasant and answered a few questions; I do wonder if he is aware of why the young man is being sent away, or if he is aware that it is a banishment. The remark about the last time you will see of California makes me wonder why he knows Julian will not be back anytime soon. Samuel, or Sam, seems to be taking Julian under his wings so to speak. Making sure he is okay and comfortable. Giving him some instructions and more importantly, giving him a feeling of being anchored in the moment. Wonderful chapter, but I fear not all the days will be this easy on the voyage out.

My fear, or at least concern, is that this has broader implications than just his reaction to Casey...

Chapter 12 Desperation
centexhairysub commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 12 Desperation
Wonderful chapter and wasn't there just a whole lot going on. August and Fletcher just seem to be a magnet for men that love men. LOL Darnell and Regis are another pair fleeing from danger because they love one another. The uncle sounds horrible, but maybe the grandfather will be able to take them in and help them. Lucky Darnell didn't really hurt Fletcher when he shot him, neither of the boys really should even have a gun, much less draw one. Glad that Runyon showed up when he did; and a good plan was put into action, maybe this will free Darnell and Regis from the uncle and get them away safe. I do worry about Willy James, but we just have to hope he is okay.- 36 comments

Casey is a predator. I hate that Levi's decisions have alienated him from those that really were his friends. Levi is going to have to make some decisions that only he can make. But is he really ready to make those decisions?

Lovely chapter, and the show was a success. So glad that so many came, and it wasn't just the sculptures that caused some interest, the drawings did as well. And you never know who a man like Evan or someone like Lila might know; they may yet dig someone up to help Neil, mentor him in refining is talent some. Glad that Anne and even Charlie are finally realizing that Neil has real talent. Alex and Neil are so good together, can't wait to see what happens next.

Discovery And Banishment
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Discovery And Banishment
Well, let's hope that his biological father isn't the douche that the one that helped raise him is. And let's hope he finds better friends soon as well. Things that happen in a crisis show the true person, who they really are, comes through in those times. -
Sometimes, life just sucks. You make the best of it, and when you get forced out of your comfort zone, you find a way forward.

I am sure the uncle did not have a sterling reputation, add that to the fact that his remains would have been tested, and they would have known he was either drunk, on drugs, or perhaps both. There will be questions, but I think they will be answered and that part will be okay. Guardianship might be harder to determine, doesn't sound like there is any additional family, but states are funny about letting minors go out of state to a placement. Plus, with some money involved, that will perhaps complicate matters.
