Chapter 8 "Inside the Sun"
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 8 "Inside the Sun"
This is why instead of being idiots, you explore the island and set up a real camp and find out what is going on around you. -
Chapter 7 Under the Weight of Fear
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 7 Under the Weight of Fear
Their relationship or friendship or whatever is getting along; but I wish they were dealing with the reality of the situation more. -
Chapter 6 A Month-Long Rain
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 6 A Month-Long Rain
How are they keeping the fire going? How are they getting enough to eat? -
Chapter 5 Island Boy Games
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 5 Island Boy Games
How much of the island have they explored, what type of camp have they made? Do they have something set up to try and get the attention of any passing plane or boat? -
Chapter 4 Edge of Tension
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 4 Edge of Tension
Do these two have no sense of survival? Are they just trying to die? -
Chapter 3: Blessings In Paradise
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 3: Blessings In Paradise
A survival kit arrived, could it have been from the yacht or a gift from the gods; get over the kiss and get a camp prepared. Lord these two damn near deserve to die. -
Chapter 2: Into the Night
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 2: Into the Night
@drsawzall is right, if they might not survive another night if they don't start being a little smarter and strategic. -
Chapter 1: Washed Ashore
centexhairysub commented on Grayson Rose's story chapter in Chapter 1: Washed Ashore
An interesting start, but I have to say whoever was captaining the ship needs to be arrested. They would have had to have up to date weather equipment, there is no excuse in this day and age to be caught that unaware. -
Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 5 - Jul. 11)
centexhairysub commented on wildone's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Well, I can't say that I never went camping when you, Boy Scouts, 4H, etc... But nothing since then, my idea of roughing it is a hotel with less than four stars and no room service. That said, I do understand the draw of it, I have several friends that still camp ever year or so; they just like the idea of the total disconnect, you and one or two others in nature. As always, thanks for the weekly look back. -
Ash and Taggert are taking it slow, but each little step brings them closer together. They continue to work together and work toward finding out how they fully fit into each other's life's. Anyone that has ever lost family land knows how hard it is. In Eric's case, losing the land is down to how much his father's disease took from them. The banks have no sympathy, and while I understand in most cases they answer to shareholders, they often are more aggressive in trying to take land from families, to get it into the hands of corporate interest. The way Taggert reacted when he heard about the sale of the ranch struck me as odd. His grandfather put him through school and trained him, whatever happened to send him running from Yoder ranch, seems to involve his father, I have to wonder if there are trust or other financial issues that his grandfather left him that his father could not alter. Excellent chapter, can't wait to see what happens next.

Genre News - Romance, Paranormal, Poetry for 7/10/2026
centexhairysub commented on Myr's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Some outstanding stories, you could read each of these and be amazed at the quality of them all. -
Loved that Travis subbed in and kicked ass. Noticed that in the TMZ story it was Travis volunteering but in reality, Will pulled him into it, of course, sounds better as Travis coming to the rescue. Impressed that all the players on Adams came around and stood up for Cabot's victory. The granola gladiator strikes again. To have such privacy in today's world would be heaven sent. Loved it all...

Here's hoping that the next script they choose is as powerfully written as this one was. I don't think Johnny is in this for the money, yes, he needs to make some; but I see him picking things that he really cares about over a hideous blockbuster that has no soul or character. I hope that Violet and Johnny have a long fruitful collaboration, Johnny can be Violet's muse. Love how calm Sam was, how he and Johnny just were, no explanation just the quiet resonance of togetherness.

Germany – Munich for the day
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Germany – Munich for the day
Loved the banter throughout this chapter, and how truly varied it was. Neil is opening up and finding things that he never even thought of, that might interest him now. And it is great that Alex is so go with the flow, willing to try but not push. Neil's idea of wandering and looking would suit me to a t. -
Levi just has to keep an open mind about everything right now. I am honestly surprised that Matt has not suggested some counseling for Levi to help him deal with his mother's death and the upheaval of moving away from everything he knows. Not sure how the conversation about masturbation would go with the counselor but... I never understand the religions that try to prohibit masturbation, except in a few rare instances, in the whole history of the world, it has never worked. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Oh, all hell is about to break loose. Calder has made a serious mistake; how will he get him off the island? Is there another dock? There has to be an inside person, not just anyone would have had Nathaniel's cell number or known the information to give to get him to head to the maternity ward, or the fact that he would have been available to give blood. Too much information for there not to be someone on the inside. Austin and Xavier were hot; it was worth the wait.

Johnny and Sam moved fast; sometimes that is a good thing but... When did this story take place? What year? Have you priced a house like what was described? Lovely...

Branford said what he believes and Taggert could hardly accept it. Dale opened up to Ash about him and Eric. Whatever feels good and no one is getting hurt works. Ash has the patience of Job with Taggert. And he will need it. How and why Taggert is so skittish will come out. Just hope Ash doesn't kill anyone over it. My experience is that for most men that are truly troubled by the idea of two other men together are either insecure about their own masculinity; or fall back on the religious aspect, without any real understanding of the religion or the history of it. Excellent chapter.

Chapter 6 Like a Thrown Lariat Over Horns
centexhairysub commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 6 Like a Thrown Lariat Over Horns
Albert Cooley must be in love; that is the only explanation for how generous he is being to August, that or the fact that he wants to make sure that others know he gave his son a headstart with money and things. August is reading his escape. Rob is learning that life going forward may not be what he is hoping for; how old is Virginia? Young enough to have another son or two? Roland Crawley appears to be everything that Albert is not. Fletcher is ready to move now, let's hope their plans go off without a hitch; at least to the point of getting gone and getting to the new homestead. Can't wait to see what happens next... How far is Bearpaw from this new homestead? LOL- 42 comments

Germany – Mad Ludwig’s little place
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Germany – Mad Ludwig’s little place
Lovely chapter, so glad that Alex and Neil got to spend some time just themselves. Rupert took them to the castle but thankfully went on a different tour. But glad that he was so hospitable. And knew a different lake to take a walk on and a nice place to have a bite and a pint. Neil is coming into his own more and more; and like @Summerabbacat Neil's sense of humor is growing on me and proving to be more robust than would have thought at the start. Neil needs to move forward at this pace, but nice that Alex is so patient and unconcerned. I can see Charlie having his gap year all sorted out soon, whether he wants it or not. LOL -
July's CSR: Look Back at 2025's Secret Author!
centexhairysub commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I can't wait, even though I am truly horrible at guessing; even the authors that I read all the time seem to surprise me. -
Lovely chapter, Levi is saying goodbye to his old life and looking forward to what is coming. Is he ready for what is coming, perhaps, but he still has some grieving to do and some growing to go through. Matt and his parents have done everything they can to make Levi is comfortable with the changes as they could possible do so; Luke as well, but now comes the hard part, the final move. He will be back for visits with the grandparents, but for the most part, his life as he has known it up until this point, is in the rear-view mirror. Let's hope the house sells quickly and for enough to help with his future life at some point. Can't wait for the next installment in this trilogy.

Weekly Wrap Up (Jun. 28 - Jul. 4)
centexhairysub commented on wildone's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Rather depressed about the situation in America this year, so really skipped all the celebrations for a quiet dinner with good friends. Hot and humid here in Central Texas, how can we have this much humidity and be in such a drought? While country is not one of my favorite genres, I can name at least a hundred great songs... Anything by Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Lorreta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Emmylou Harris, Anne Murray, Wanda Jackson, Linda Martell, Sara and "Mother" Maybell Carter, June Carter Cash, Rosanna Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kitty Wells, Brenda Lee, Crystal Gayle, Lucinda Williams, Dottie West, Allison Krauss, Linda Ronstadt, Lee Ann Womack, The Chicks, Trisha Yearwood, Connie Smith, Bobbie Gentry; then throw in Johnny Cash, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, well dammit, I may like country more than I thought. LOL -
Oh Lord, I thought my laptop was going to melt with all the unexplored heat coming from this chapter... Austin wants Xavier, and Xavier is starting to crave Austin. The explosion when this actually happens is going to be with one hell of a bang...
