Caroline shows her breeding in both going to the funeral of one of Granger's former officers since he can't; but in her dealing with and conversation on the way back to London with Calvert and Gatling. Caroline moved to remove Calvert from the area to protect George, much like a lioness protecting her young. The conversation between Caroline, Calvert, and even Gatling to some extent was truly illuminating. It would take a truly extrodinary woman to have that conversation. The fact that Calvert understood the need to explain himself to her says a great deal as well. Eastwyck seems so much younger than Granger was at his age. I think some of that is the difference in their position in society but some is internal as well. I have to wonder what happened to cause Eastwyck to have the reaction he did??? I hope that Granger and Eastwyck are both back in London soon and moving forward with their lives in whatever manner they can.

Glad about Gathan stepping down as trustee, unsure about Zach still, concerned about Will, sad about Kai but expected it, happy to see Brad dealing with his feelings, and not sure how to feel about Tony but will think on it....

I cannot tell you how much that I enjoyed this whole chapter. It took only a few minutes to realize what was going on and I just loved how Will handled everything before, during, and after supper. Will understands those in his life and this will always give him an advantage. I think it would be nice for Will to have a couple of guys around him that really had no desire to sleep with him. I am not sure that is where the situation with Austin is heading but we can see. You can tell that JP really wants Will to be happy and that he really respects him. It is evident by how JP talks to and handles Will when they are talking. I would have thought that Gathan would have had better sense than to push this with Will or even the rest of the family. I can sort of understand Brad but I am sure that Will knows about Brad giving Sergio/Kevin a car so why is it really different when he decides to give Zach one? I have a feeling that neither Brad or Gathan are going to win this argument with Will. I do have to wonder what kind of car Will got Zach? I cannot see Will going crazy and getting him something too expensive, plus I sort of see Zach in a pick-up, not a car... Thanks so much Mark for all the wonder you bring into our lives with both the CAP and Bridgemont series...

Well, it looks like Calvert and Gatling will be on their way to the West Indies; I have a feeling that this might not be a bad thing for anyone involved. This isn't so far that they can't be back in England if they need to be recalled but far enough a way to let Caroline calm down and Granger to help smooth the waters. I thought Granger played the scene in the salon quite well. He was able to get a hold of himself and show the side of himself that all except the closest to him see. I have a feeling that he did not do much damage to his cause. I have to hope that Granger will be back in England soon. The scene with Eastwyck at the end made this chapter of Granger having to hold himself in a happy ending so to speak. I have to wonder at Granger's restraint in holding his attraction for Eastwyck in check for a long as he has. I just can't say enough about your ability to pull figures in from the past into your stories and make them relevant and so tangible to the further development of this wonderful saga. Mark, you are truly an artist...

A really well done chapter, I really like the scene with JJ and John and much like Tim; I have to wonder what John read into it. I think it was really nice to see a vulnerable side to JJ. He is turing out to be a very engaging individual. I would like to see more from his point of view. I still don't really trust Zach. I do realize that much of what he did can be explained away in some way but he has always seemed a little predatory to me. I have to believe that Will sees something in him that the rest of us have missed. I have never been a huge Gathan fan but Zach really stuck it to him a few times and I could see why he would have a hard time trusting Zach or moving past the past. I have to wonder if the past is going to come back to bite both of them in unexpected ways. Will really understands what Brad needs and seems to be doing everything he can to help him cope with Robbie's death. I just hope he doesn't take to much on himself. I have to admit he reminds me more and more of JP in several ways. I hope that he keeps getting to interact with JP in more and varied situations. A lot of people made a lot of money after 9/11. It was neither good or bad just a fact of life. There are always winners and losers in business.

What is the saying about a coming between a wolf cub and it's mother??? I have a feeling that Calvert and Gatling may have just experienced something similar with Caroline. I don't really think that Caroline will do anything to really harm Calvert and Gatling but she will do whatever it takes to protect and support George. I would almost be more worried about Winkler. So glad that Lt Eastwyck caught up with Granger even under these circumstances. I do hope that George gets home soon and can deflect part of Caroline's wrath. At least Spencer already gave the ship to Calvert so I doubt that she can have that taken away... Great chapter and thanks so much for the update....

Really a great chapter, I though the part with Ethan showed how well Matt and Wade compliment each other. They really do make a formindable team. I have to wonder how involved Wade will end up being in Ethan's life or maybe the better question is how much will Ethan will let them into his life? I was sort of suprised by how calmly Will and Stef took Brad sleeping with Marcel. I actually could see the positive to it but expected more of a reaction from Will and Stef both. Brad ended up handling the situation with Will and Zach better than I anticipated. I did find it strange that Brad did not just fund the trust and not mention the money being short from Robbie's estate. Maybe he wanted full disclosure but it came out a little off kilter to me. Great chapter and really needed it after this weekend; keep up the good work.

I thought the section with JJ was really well done and added a lot to the story. I can see JJ and John being better friends, John is physically and emotionally closer to JJ right now than he is Will. I think Will and John will always be better friends but JJ and John are more in the same place at the moment. I really did not care for the section with Will. I have serious issues with Zach that go back several stories and don't care about his how or why. The whole scene with Will and Zach just seemed really out of place and disjointed. With everything that happened, I just can't see it happening... This part was a real miss for me...

Crying like I haven't in a while... Remembering the good times while forgetting all the rest... Knowing that you would want me to move on.... Remembering the love we shared knowing it is still there... Thank you Mark for all you have given us with this story...

Well, sort of liked the idea of Bush being a zombie; afterall he was sort of one in a lot of ways.

Well the shit just hit the fan....

A mix of seasoned and green army can make for an interesting side of stew. I have to wonder who will handle the situation better...

I just never understand the idea of keeping everything secret. I know you don't want to cause a panic but by the time the truth comes out it is usually too late...

They need to drop a bomb now while it might be contained but they won't... Too afraid of what might be said in the press or other places...

Leave it to the military to screw up something that should have been taken care of; there is always some smart ass that wants a new weapon or toy to play with and really doesn't understand the risk...

I have to wonder if this is the same Ross from the story about Eagle Rock. If so, I wonder if we will get any additional cross over from that story. I can't remember the dates on it but think it was about the same time frame as this is now...

We always spend money on what is not really important and have often ignore what is really needed. It always bites us on the ass in the end...

And so it begins, it is always takes just that one person not doing what they are suppose to do to get something like this in motion. Hard to trust anyone in Pakistain or that region, just too many conflicted loyalties...

Well, not sure that I liked how that ended up but have to see where it is going in the end. Karma is a bitch and when you do something like that; it usually comes back to bite you in the end no matter how long it takes...

So easy to fear change and the change coming was bigger than most; I have to wonder what these two saw that lead them to believe the change would end up in a way that would destroy what they loved most?

Interesting start to the story, going into the past can always give a certain insight into how the future will proceed. I hope this proves and interesting as some of your other stories...

Exceptionally well done, Mark; this story just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us while Granger is in Paris and then once again when he reaches London and home. I would suspect it would not do to keep Granger in Paris longer than absolutely necessary as Caroline is capable of launching an invasion to get him back...

Truly a first rate chapter and a fine addition to this saga; I knew Mark would have a few suprises for us. I really like the turn around with Mary Ellen and hope it is at least partially real, a truce with her would make life much easier for Wade. I am so glad that Wade got with Turner. I don't know, it just made so much sense in light of the past. Plus, the fact that so many of their friends from school past and present showed up says a lot about the kind of people Wade and Matt are turning out to be. I am sure that Elizabeth will come back to haunt Wade and the others but I hope he gets a little break. I am pretty sure that Mark Warner won the election in Virginia in 2000 so we know she won't get an appointed position but she will be lurking around...

The scene with JP and Brad was so well written. It had such a bittersweet feel to it as JP went over his past ever so briefly. Brad could learn so much from JP, if only he would stop trying to compete with him in everyway. I am really amazed and ever so impressed with how much Darius has grown during all of this. He has handled himself so well. Wade is so much like JP that it is funny. They even plan their battles in a similar manner. I thought he handled the situation with Elizabeth as well as could be expected. I do think it was funny to watch him with Mary Ellen. Great work, Mark, I know you are busy to thanks for the update...
