  1. A very well written chapter but.... I can honestly say that I am very disappointed in Stef and Brad both... I guess that I come from a family background similar to JP's because my reaction is much like his. You may banish a person from the family and stop the support but if they are truly down and on the street, you do what it takes to protect them no matter what they have done. I do believe that what Brian has done is horrible and he and the Carmichaels need to be stopped but JP is right as well. You can destroy them and leave them with almost nothing but in the end, family is family even if you hate them... JP did what he did in giving Brian the money so he would go away and not bother the family any longer. That Brian was stupid enough to take the money and then bite the hand that gave it to him is immaterial. JP could not know what Brian was going to do, JP did what he did to protect the family even if it did backfire in the end. To quote a truly great philospher, " A logical action once undertaken remains logical, no matter what the results " Spock of Vulcan.... Stef and Brad are both acting like petulant children and it may just come back to bite them both... I am glad the deal with Brad buying into Ander/Hayes worked out so well... I trust that Brad and Robbie will weather anything that the world throws at them from now on... Hope the rest of this story is as well written and exciting as the chapters up til now have been...
  2. A couple of things..... I have to believe JP will be head of the family until his death or his decision to abdicate. I do think that Brad will begin to take more leadership but will still in the end defer to JP on most things. I agree that if Brad were to try and force the matter, irregardless of the situation with Brian, that Brad would not win in an out and out power struggle with JP. As mush as Stef loves Brad, I don't think Stef would side with anyone but JP in the final analysis. While I do think that Brad is completely within his rights and honestly should be going after Brian for what he has done, Brad can become so focused on winning and coming out on top that he can lose his way. In the past, Brad has sometimes been blind to the damage that he can do in his drive to prove that he is the " Alpha Male ". I do think that Omega and by extension Brian, must be stopped, but an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth can lead to a bunch of blind and toothless people on both sides of the conflict. There are a lot of innocents on both sides that have been hurt or maybe hurt by all of this. Kevin and Commander Carmichael and his family from that side and Robbie, the kids, etc.. from our side. In addition, even Brandon and Carson, while not completely innocent have been badly hurt by this; we never really found out why they joined the other side, were they forced, intimidated, or did they go willingly, we just never found out... At a certain point, the colleteral damage is just too great and you don't destroy both sides just to win... Now having said all of that, I hope that Brad/JP/Stef/ et al will kick Omegas and Brians and everyone's ass... Brad buying into Robbie's company can go either way. I don't think he should do it without talking to Robbie about it. If he does it and says nothing to Robbie beforehand, I think that no matter what, it will cause problems. Speaking from personal experience, not on the scale of anything in this story; I had a " friend " that was having some financial problems with a small company he was part owner. I did not want him to think I was underminning him, but I went to the managing partner and agreed to buy into the company to give them some additional equity. I did it quietly and I thought for the right reasons. I never took an active intrest in the company, but when it came out later, my friend saw it as a betrayal. I would think with everything going on and the fact that they are just getting back together, Brad would need to think twice before going behind Robbie's back, even on something he thinks would help. I have to say that I truly love this series and find the writing and editing of it truly masterful. Only one other story online has ever captured my heart in the way that this series has. While I do love Bridgemont series and enjoy it equally, the CAP series is just something truly special
  3. Chapter 40 was great!!!! The showdown between JP and Brad was handled masterfully. I do wonder what JP did on his ride that made him change his mind. I have to wonder if this is truly the changing of the guard. I can't wait to see how Brad goes after Omega and how badly he is able to hurt Brian. I can see a chapter down the road with Brian begging JP for help and can't wait to see how that plays out. Keep up the good work and can't wait for the next chapter.
  4. Claire as a narrator would be interesting, but I'm not sure the sex scenes would be compatible with this demographic. Mark Arbour Like someone else mentioned as well, I might put up with a few hetero sex scenes to get the goods on Jack.... I can honestly say that I do not read these stories for the sex scenes. While there are some very good sex scenes in all of the CAP stories, I honestly read them because they are very well written and fully enjoyable. I think most of the readers of this series are adult enough that any hetero sex scenes in a story with Claire as the narrator would be dealt with on an adult level. I would hope that the average reader of the CAP series was more mature and had a level of development that they could deal with that...
  5. This was a great chapter. The tension is starting to get at everyone. I hated that Will had his first hearbreak at such a young age but was probably more than Drew could deal with going back home and not wanting any extra pressure from Will or anyone else. I thought the scene between JP and Brad was really well done. I do think that Brad is going to really rip Brian to shreds and although JP will have some desire to save him, I don't think he will this time. After Brad destroys him, Brian can maybe remake himself and JP can then try and help him out. Like Mark, the use the X just isn't a major deal to me, I know that for me was never a big problem. I would put it on the same level as pot as well. With the jobs that all of these guys have, I doubt that any of them have any type of real drug issues, they wouldn't be able to hide it and function at the level they all seem to do. The condoms is a bigger deal for me, I don't care how caught up in the moment you are, I can't see forgetting the condom. I know in the previous chapters there was no mention of them using one, but I sort of added that in my own mind for everyone except Max and Cody. I hope that the kids become more involved in the stories and I would love to have Claire as the narrator for one of the stories. She has alwasy seem to me to be the strongest one in the family for her generation. Keep up the good work, and keep them coming...LOL
  6. I have to say that Chapter 37 was great... I loved how Granger handled the situation in Oran and was able to extract all he did from the Bey. The ruby will make a handsome present for the King, if the Crown Prince doesn't sell it off to pay off his debts... I am not sure that Winkler will quite appreciate Carlos but after all, Granger rescued him at one point as well. Someone that speaks all of those languages would be a welcome addition to any ship at that time. I do think that Robey will survive now as well, after all why introduce the old woman and the magic elixer if not to save him. Keep up the great work and can't wait for the next chapter...
  7. Chapter 36 was great, another chapter full of action... While I do like the strategy and fighting in this story, I find the personal interaction is really well done. The give and take and flow of the story is just remarkable. :pickaxe: :pickaxe: :pickaxe: I do hope that Granger doesn't get too cocky but he seems to be working this new adventure for all it is worth. Glad that Chilton is getting in on the action, and although I hope Robey is okay, glad Chilton might move up as well... Great to see that Granger is letting some of the crew take the lead, this is truly the sign of a great leader... Can't wait for the next chapter.....
  8. A truly great chapter... The battle was great and the scene with Mann was wonderfuly written and so pitch perfect... I can't wait till we see what happens in Oran. I wonder if the Bey or Oran has a maie harem? Can you imagine the trouble Granger could get up to in a male harem? ? ? ? I do hope that Robey is okay, I don't think Travers would be very happy with something happening to him while he was under Granger's command... For the love of God, post the new chapter soon....
  9. I really do believe that JP will have to be the one to deal with Brian. It will be something that he has to do himself. I think sometimes though there are worse things to do to someone then kill them. I think Brian has a lot of anger over the fact that his and JP's biological father abandoned him, however has anyone ever established that Bill Hendrickson actually knew about Brian? I never saw JP as a sociopath. His behaviour in the early stories never really suggested that to me. He was able to compartmentalize his life but he never really did anything or had anything done to someone without a reason, usually either protecting himself or someone that he cared about.
  10. OMG, Alfredo Sauce... I just loved this chapter and no matter what happens, you know that Brad and Robbie will always love each other... Now on to other things.... JP is clearly old money, his grandfather on both sides had money and power. Stef is a hybrid, as his family here in America had money but he did not growing up in France. Brad/Claire et al are very old money as in at least fourth generation and maybe fifth generation of money and power. Robbie's money is new but because Frank being with Isadoire and growing up at least from his mid teen years with JP/Stef/Brad etc, is somewhat of a hybrid as well. You don't have to be physically strong to kill someone just have to have the nerves or balls to do so and I think JP has plenty of those. I think he has used his money because it is what someone of his social/economic/intelectual level would do. This doesn't mean he would not have done it himself if there was no other choice. Brad and Stef and the rest will not have to worry about taking Omega down, the tech market crash will do that for them. I realize they don't know it yet but Stef's belief that the market will go south is why they are moving out of that sector. Omega is ultimately on the line for literally over a billion dollars worth of deals in the tech market that all will be worthless. Generally, to operate in the defense industry you have to have large capital reserves to even be able to bid on military deals, at least for the US. When they take the beating that is coming to them in the tech market, the company may not have the reserves to go after the military contracts. Since Mike is trying to stay out of his Mother's fight with Brad, he may well be unaware of the amount of resources that Brad's family has at their disposal. He may not understand that connection to Crampton Construction, which if I am not mistaken JP still has a 7.5 or 12.5 percent intrest in. Mike may not be aware of the construction company that JP/Isadoire owns and runs, from all accounts in earlier stories a major player in West Coast construction and real estate. While Stef's connection he may be aware of because they do share the last name and run the company together with Luke, does he realize how close they are and that Stef would spend his last franc to support Brad? Plus you don't move in that level of money and business in Ohio or California without have excellent contacts in Washington DC and that doesn't even include the connection to Senator Danfield. I think that Mike is seriously underestimating the amount of firepower that the " Family " can employee. Keep the chapters coming...
  11. Well, damn, chapter 34 was a doozy..... I was glad that Robbie was there for Brad, and I think no matter what they will always be friends if nothing else. I had figured the Keving being the cousin thing out long ago but had no idea that the person behind Omega would be his biological father's wife... Yikes, talk about a woman scorned. For her to spend this many years obsessed about this shows real mental instability, should she be running a major defense contractor??? LOL... Well it appears we have another mole in some shape or another, afterall, someone had to be the one to finally tell her who Brad was, is this Brian coming back into play? I wonder if the old family secrets had been spilled to him before he was banished from the family? Oh and we are gonna get Brad some half brothers; one a navy man, even if he doesn't play, maybe some hot SEAL friends, and another that is already gay... Damn, can't wait for the next chapter, keep up the good work.....
  12. Well another really good chapter, it moved the story forward in several really positive ways. I am suprised that anyone was suprised about the Kevin revelation. I really thought most people had that figured out long ago. I don't have an issue with Brad and Kevin sleeping together, while I was adamately opposed to the idea of Brad and Matt having sex. For me, the difference between brothers , cousins, or your or your partners kids is huge.... I really like how Robbie is starting to deal with this situation. I still want them to end up together but feel that Robbie has to get his own shit together before he and Brad can work getting back in a committed relationship. Keep up the good work....
  13. Another great chapter, Mark, I think that chapter 29 was truly wonderful... I kept going back and forth between Brad and Robbie in this chapter. I think they both had some really good points but do understand why Brad needs more time to get back to where he was to start with. I hope that Robbie will be able to give him that time and that it works out for them. I hope we get some of the action back to Claremont soon, I still think that is where we will find the person behind all of this, I have decided not to call the person behind this a mastermind, because they haven't been truly masterful yet... I know the output will slow but keep them coming...
  14. I loved the new chapter... Robbie is starting to come to his senses but so is Brad. They have to decide if the plus they have in their lives are enough to overcome the negatives and whether it is better to remain in a relationship or transition into friends with perhaps benefits... With the big blow up at the gala, and everything coming out the way it did, I would think we would start to find more clues to the person really behind all of this. I hope this first climax isn't the best one but just the incentive to really bring off the big one?!?! Keep up the great work Mark...
  15. Please?!?!?!?!
  16. Well have been out of touch with all technology the last few days so just got to read chapters 26 and 27 back to back and what can I say but Freaking Great!!!! I loved the final set ups and how everything played out. I do admit that I feel some sympathy for Brandon, you have to wonder why he did it? I have been saying from the very first that the person really behind all of this is from JP/Stef's past more than Brad's... I still think that when the action shifts to Claremont, we will find out the real mastermind, who might not be as masterful as they thought... While I do think that Robbie has made a good transition and I do hope that Brad and Robbie end up together, I don't believe they are out of the woods yet. I hope that what comes next is as good as the last few chapters have been. So, you will have the next 20 chapters or so posted by the end of the week???
  17. The scene between Brad and Robbie was pitch perfect... No matter what happens to them in the end, you know that they will find a way to stay friends. I do hope that they find a way to work it out and stay together but will remain a fan no matter which way it goes. I think that Robbie showing up and the fact that Brad understands Robbie so well, that they were so easily able to go into fake fight mode in front of Dan really actually helped Brad make his case with Dan. Dan definitely hated Robbie more in the past than he did Brad, he blamed Robbie for keeping him and Brad apart. I wonder if on Friday night, Brad and Robbie shouldn't show up and be all lovey dovey and maybe even invite Max and Cody, wouldn't that just chap Lark's ass, to see Max happy... I hope we get the business issues resolved soon, at least most of them, I think it will take a while for everything to come out on the backside. I want to get back to Brad/Robbie and see what ideas JP has for Claremont. Keep up the great work Mark, I hope you know how much we all appreciate this small slice of heaven you are bringing to out lives... And if you don't like the heaven refrence, just substitute orgy of delight...
  18. All I can say is OMG!!!!!!!
  19. Chapter 23 was wonderful. I liked the way Brad handled things with Dan and the interplay with Stef and Luke was first rate. I really liked the set up and how the meeting with Mr Lu went. It really showed the diffrent skills of all those involved. I can't wait to see how this business situation plays out. I found it very revelaing that when Brad was explaining to Stef why he was after Dan, that the first thing he mentioned was how they went after Robbie and tried to destroy him. The fact that this was mentioned first tells me that no matter what Brad still loves and cares about what happens with Robbie. I might be wrong but I am starting to believe more and more that Brad and Robbie will be together and stronger than ever when this story ends. I do think that Robbie needs to learn to become more assertive and stand up for himself more, but I think part of the problem with that is Brad really likes to be the one in charge and the one making the decisions. They both need to learn a little more give and take if they want to be together in fifty years... I do feel that they could become a team as formidable as JP and Stef but they still both have a lot of growing and learning to do to make it to that level. This story is quickly becoming one of the favorites of the CAP series, although nothing will ever touch the first one for me. I can't wait to see where Mark takes us on this wonderfully inventive ride.
  20. Okay, Mark, you need to get over your real life and concentrate on what is important... A New Chapter of the Bridgemont series... While I have been wraped up with your latest CAP story, I am still perishing waiting on the next chapter in this story. I do realize that getting the historical factors just right makes it more time consuming, so I suggest you cut out sleep... Please, oh please, I need a new chapter...
  21. I do agree that Rev Carmichael, might be Brad's half brother from his biological father Commander Kevin Carmichael. I have already thought of this and agree it would add an interesting twist, damn there is that pesky insest again, Brad slept with his nephew... There are still Cramptons and Hendricksons left in Claremeont. Jim, JP's brother, had at least two children and it seems to me that beside Brian, who was illegitimate like JP, there were a couple of other Hendricksons either mentioned or alluded to at some point. While I could see Rev Carmichael wanting to strike at Brad to punish him for their fathers affair, if he is his half brother, I once again don't think he would have the money. I still fell the person is from either Claremont or has some connection to it. There really hasn't been much talk in the last few stories of any other members of the founding families but some still are around unless like Tonto, their deaths were between stories and never really covered.
  22. I doubt that Max's parents or Kevin's parents have the kind of money that the person truly behind this would have to have... Plus the fact that JP has now shown to still be a force in Claremont, and Mark hinting that the story might move back that way at some point, leads me to believe the person behind this is from the distant past. I think we need to look at one of the founding families of Claremont for the one truly behind all of this....
  23. Great chapter, the writing and suspense were both first rate... Robbie is getting on my nerves as well with the whinning but I do think that Brad's constant teasing about his weight and hair loss for the last several years is partially to blame for Robbie's behaviour. Now, that said, I am not excusing Robbie going out and falling in love with Carson. As it has already been stated, I do think that the people going after Robbie/Brad/Stef/etc... probably knew some of Robbie's past and coached Carson on how to act and treat him. While I don't think that Brad is truly abusive to Robbie, I do think that the constant teasing and remarks have worn down Robbie's self-esteem. I do want them to stay together but I do agree that Robbie needs to grow a pair and Brad needs to realize this isn't all Robbie's fault. I find it funny that Dan hasn't aged as well as Brad, after all Dan was so physical and active in Be Rad. I still believe that there is someone else ultimately behind this, someone that is acting as the bank to finance all fo this. Keep this story coming...
  24. I don't have an issue with the idea of incest so much if it is a cousin or even an uncle by marriage, been there and done that... but you just do not sleep with one of your partners kids, I don't care if they grew up with you or have been there for fifteen seconds... That is just a line that should not ever be crossed. Even if the relationship is on the rocks and going down for the third time, there are certain lines that you just don't go past. I am not sure that even if the relationship ends do you cross those lines... I am also getting a little tired of Brad's poor me routine. Although I don't think that Robbie has groveled enough to really deserve to be back in Brad's good graces, Brad needs to decide whether he wants Robbie back. I have always wanted Brad and Robbie to stay together, and I still believe in the end they will make it. One minute Brad seems to be accepting that Robbie made a mistake and let's him back in a little and the next Robbie is evil incarnate and must be punished, make up your mind!!! I can completely see Tonto as an avenging ghost, punishing those that besmirch the family honor. Tonto even after she left Claremont worked to better the city and the lives of those that were still there. I have always seen the City of Claremont as a full fledged character in these stories. I grew up in a small town, that I consider to be the center of all known evil in the universe, but it still draws me back from time to time. I think for this family, Claremont will always be something that draws them back. I cannot wait for Grace to show back up and I hope they let her fire Brandon... I cannot wait to find out who put the money up to support Dan/Lark/Brandon/Carson/etc... I have consistently said since the first that this goes back to someone from Claremont and until Mark proves me wrong, I am going to stick to that story. Okay, Mark, I thought we decided that you couldn't have your own life, you are suppose to be just eating, sleeping, and writing to keep up amused... Get to work...
