Whew! I needed a breather after that chapter. Very intense. I don't think that there is a successful or dominant nation anywhere on the globe in 2017 that does not have somewhere in its history the domination of a native minority, or an imported minority. In many countries in 2017 that denial and that same persecution is still going on. Let's keep the discussion going. I know that Eric and Peter will show Georg the Makarovian archives from WWII. Get the tissues ready, 'it's going to be a bumpy flight' (to badly paraphrase Bette Davis in All About Eve).

A nice new story. The explorers should not forget to use star maps, since it is just as important to know where you've been and where you are going as it is to know how long you've spent getting there. 'Time rips,' will mean that they might have found themselves going backwards in actual time, just as easily as going forward. The mapping of the stars and constellations will become critical. Keep it going Quokka!! I look forward to more.

Eric's greenhouses/terracing and longer growing seasons will empower the Makarovians and make them feel less dependent on others for some basic needs and foods. Eric will have to make sure that the Makarovians are employed to work and to have a stake in the outcome of the successes or failures of the enterprise.

Interesting chapter. Maybe Anton will regain his humanity after this incident. His self-absorbed action of slipping off of his boat was thoughtless as he gave not thought to his family, or his pets who depended on him. It appears that he is running from himself and is fighting having to deal with Mathew, because he knows that in any battle there are at least two sides. He has some deep soul-searching to do and I hope he gets someone to help.

Great chapter. I'm thinking that Anton's mood swings and what seems to be a near-constant depression are due to a possible chemical imbalance or a soon-to-be-discovered brain tumor or other problem. These mood swings have occurred fairly often to be considered normal behavior. He might end up taking a long step off the deep end somewhere or somehow and possibly injure or alienate some family.

Anita needed to place the boys under 'house arrest,' giivng them a time-out in their room, or giving them a task like going outside to find 'a left-handed smoke shifter' - a non-existent something our Boy Scout leaders would do to get rid of us for a few hours. Glad to see the family moving home. Will Anton take over for Jasper who is on forced vacation? Will Emma start making demands? Maybe she wants child (or puggle) support, or an access port to the outside. I'm hoping that we do not lose her to one of those nasty snakes or spiders that Australia is infamous for. Great chapter!

What a lovely pair of chapters (18 and19). I must confess that when I first opened Chapter 19 and saw the warning to "STOP!!!! Read chapter 18! I made a mistake..." I very quickly closed Chapter 19, no quite knowing if Gay Authors had their own 'Chapter police' who might have been able to tell if I had not read Chapter 18 first and not wanting to have missed anything good. Chapter 18 was one of the. best. chapters. ever! I'm glad the Chapter Police will not have a case against me and even more so, because who knew if the author could have enforced the taking of a quiz by all readers before being allowed to read the next chapter. I'll be good, I promise. I want to see the ceremonies!

Great chapter. However, what has happened to Jacob Lenswood now that the police have him? When Kes grows up into a sullen teenager (always a possibility), he could fly off the handle and fire Bryce from his managerial duties. I think he was a little too free with the shares he was giving away. Now we have the Edgerton Pastoral Empire being tossed out to pasture, so to speak. Looks like things may get very interesting real fast.

Anton seems to have a lot on his plate right now, and with Dr. Martin's 'suggestion' of Anton becoming a wildlife rehabilitator/refuge owner, his life would take another swing away from the sea. He'll need to find a home for the echidna as she incubates her eggs, since being on the unsteady deck of a boat will be too much for mom and puggles.

Great story and a nice solid ending. However, it is also a partial set-up for the next story since Van Jordan appears to be on the loose an Brady and Nessay now have a baby girl on the way. What do you say, is there another 10-12 chapter mini-epic in that brain of yours? I'd love to see another saga. Keep up the great writing and I'll keep on reading.

Well done and well written! Is it too cheeky to say that I look forward to more of your writing?

And me, I just read along not adding up that anything was out of place. I think that snake or former snake is soon to become a belt.

Okay, it's time we had a chapter from Roey's viewpoint. She's had her life turned around 180 degrees and is in Anton's life now. Maybe she'll take on the role of deciding just who Anton should let into his life from this point on. Interesting chapter. Keep 'em coming!

This chapter is the bomb! Peter and Eric are planning for the mineral extraction, thinking about and planning for the inevitable human waste and trash. Island and mountain kingdoms with limited space really have a lot of pressure on them to not behave as bigger countries can and have for centuries. They'll be right to limit what types of products and side wastes can come into Makarovia. Given all that, I can foresee some push-back by some corporate types, who may fine those hidden penalty clauses in their contracts that require environmental monitoring, recycling and prevention. The excitement is building and I'm loving every chapter.

Whomever or whoever is at the door with the alleged 'room service,' does not mean well for our heroes Bryce and Kes. Could be hired thugs who were hired before the Edgertons passed away and are still operating under that 'contract' to harm Bryce; workers from one of the cattle stations who were stiffed out of their wages by the Edgertons and Miranda (and others?). The plot thickens...
-
Kind of sleazy for Kyle and Miranda to scheme like they did to try and get ahold of Bryce's company. Now I hope that Kes has not been abused and that Bryce can get custody of him immediately. Great chapter!

I might want to worry about intolerant security guards.

Great chapter and I'm glad for a glimpse into Makarovia. However, what happened to the 3 people traveling with Peter and Eric? They were on the flight and then suddenly not there. With so many mountains, I can see where there would be/could be a demand for operations to be underground. Just as the Swiss are masters at building military jet hangers into mountain sides and using highways as runways; their tunnels are incredible feats of engineering as well. Switzerland is also one of the best-defended countries, with mandatory military service up until age 32, I believe and each militia-person has their weapons at home with them, rather than centralized in a depot hours away. A lot to explore in our little country of Makarovia. I agree with others that hydroelectric power is the way to go. One of major drawbacks to uranium mining is the tailings, the waste rock getting to the desired mineral. More, more, more! Keep up the great writing on this tale.

Enough about these major characters running away from themselves and especially from publicity that should be managed and controlled head on. Bryce is missing an opportunity to develop a friendship with Daniel and a potential partner in the running of his operations. However, that said, I would like to know more about these 'road houses' that seemed to come with each cattle station purchase. When I hear the term 'road house,' I picture the Patrick Swayze movie 'Road House,' and lots of bare-chested men drinking, swaggering and fighting. I would also like to know more about the topography of these cattle stations. Why do they need to be so large? Is the land so poor that more acres per head of cattle are needed? How many cattle and what type do we have in this part of Australia? Are they Santa Gertrudis or other Brahman-mixes that tolerate heat well? What happens to all the feral goats they rounded up? 'Cabrito' (baby/young goat) is a very popular Christmas-time meal among the Latin Americans, so there could be a ready market for 'organic, free-range young goats.' Just sayin,' ya know?

"Sir Dad," I love it! Tidying up some things in the UK. Hopefully Tom will not be enlisted and sent to Afghanis-Nam (sic), although being an Australian citizen, that should not be able to happen. Quokka, do you really think that you can stop with just two chapters? I think as loyal readers, we're ready for Tom's adventures and how they will at some point intersect with his father's.

Whew! What a rush, all the way to the end of this chapter! Now, has the viral/fungus/slime been incinerated out of existence, or is it still in the amongst the ancient city? If it had wiped out all life on the planet and altered the weather, I can't imagine any 'cure' being found, unless the ancient beings had left some writings about cures/treatments, etc. Great chapter!

Oh, I don't know, 'death by puppies' might not be such a bad way to go. I'd be laughing and giggling to death. This is a great start to a great saga. Rodeos, cowboys, horses, more cowboys, what's not to love, right?

Great chapter! I wonder if Trick will accept Cody's revelation that he is gay and he was hiding it in high school, hence all the bullying. That will be a tough reveal for Trick to get past and I would not blame him for wanting to even take a friendship with Cody very slowly. I wonder though that when Trick smoothes out some of the bugs in his app (age mismatches), if after testing the app on himself he finds out that his musical tastes are a 1:1 match with Cody's?

Very good chapter. I like the slow build-up to Olek's announcement that will occur on Friday. Please let Peter and Eric stay as students a while longer. I don't think I'd like to see Peter thrust onto the throne just yet. Of course, we haven't had any of the palace and non-palace intrigue by those who don't want to see the change that are indeed coming due to the Uranium being found and mined. The other point will be those military advisors who will be in country. Some may see them as 'occupying forces,' and rebel against that presence. I look forward to every chapter, R. Eric!

Hmmm... I wonder what Anton will be doing with his new-found knowledge about cattle station life? Will the Sandersons have a need of his zoologist training, I wonder? I know Australia has more types of creatures that can kill than any other single country on earth, so I'm waiting for an encounter or two there. Great chapter.
