Seduction by the Aurora Borealis and Danni, seducing Duke. Maybe the Aurora is playing havoc with his nanites, or maybe he wanted to seduce Duke. I liked the gentle seduction of it all. Don't forget Dannia had an uneasy feeling before they left, so maybe his nanites allow him to hear/feel electronic pulses and that SOS broadcast?

We'll find out in the next chapter perhaps, that Penelope had already had her discussions w/ Anderson Cooper and the production staff ahead of time (or so I hope). I agree that we're beginning to see Eric's impact on his new country and on Peter and his family. It all keeps me coming back for more.

Great chapter. The story line has me wanting to know a lot more about the cattle station lives of people and their animals. It sounds a bit like the old American West (or our romanticized version of it) meets the 21st Century of Satellite phones and Utes. I've been hooked on this story line since the early chapters.

This is a great story! Of course, when I looked at the country name I wanted to pronounce it Marakovia, which rolled off the tongue a bit more smoothly than 'Makarovia.' A controlled cosmopolitan awakening for the little country is important; however, Eric and Peter may also encounter some conservative elements in Makarovia as well. I love the idea of the Aztec and Chinese way of terracing hillsides for crops. Since there are high, sharp mountains the possibilities for Wind energy and even at that lattitude there is a lot of sun about 7 months of the year at least for solar panels. @R.Eric: I hope you can consult some engineers, green-space gardeners, cave-gardeners when it comes time for discussing some of those areas. I look forward to more. I always love your writing, so keep up the great writing!

My Baby Just Wrote Me a Letter
skyacer commented on ObicanDecko's story chapter in My Baby Just Wrote Me a Letter
I like this story, a lot! It has a nice story line and good character development. I like that the author has not had Trick fall into a cliche of learning martial arts to defend himself and tearing Cody's arms off, or going back and rearranging a few bullies' physical structures. However, that app he is developing sounds intriguing. Maybe he'll develop an app that targets bullies somehow? Hmmm... -
Great chapter and a nice foundation for our hero. Maybe Carlton will fall in love or lust, with Amanda and her secret will be revealed that she is really a he, when she tells Carlton why she can't have kids. Not a story line, just a twist. Carlton should end up with Jacob, maybe being part of a sea rescue when Jacob's plane crashes and strands some survivors on some islands north of NZ. At this point, Firestorm heroes, Benning, Tom, and others come together to rescue the plane survivors. So many possibilities are now in front of you Preston/Quokka with these separate stories. They're the ones I look forward to the most from any author. Keep up the great writing.

I'm waiting for Chapter 12.5 to fill me in how Anton has ended up in a hospital and what happened to to the others. I think a half chapter on Mathew's story would be nice to find out why and how he ended up in a hotel with a possible rent-boy. Then if there is to be a future between those two, some counselling or intervention by friends and families, or going off into the Outback for some healing by the First Peoples (I'm not sure what the correct name is to use (in Canada, it is First Nations), who are more connected with their environment and can be fiercely independent and insightful.

Great chapter. I'm kind of speechless at the moment. At first, I thought Carlton's uncle would be washed overboard, or his Aunt Jacq would be knocked unconscious. Reading a book is one way to keep calm. Cliffies are not nice, but this was not a huge one.

Here Comes the Thunder
skyacer commented on ValentineDavis21's story chapter in Here Comes the Thunder
We're quickly finding out a lot more about Danni and maybe how he was programmed to become a 'killing machine' by his father, but instead of being able to be molded to his father's whims, Danni has a conscience and a perhaps a precognition of events that are to come. I do wonder if there is now an alien culture that wants to keep Redemption as it is a frozen wasteland. -
Chapter 5 - Reuniting of Souls

I don't care what the Chapter number is. All I can say after reading everything that's going on is to say 'Uh oh!' -
Chapter 3 - 1.800.273.8255

I had never seen that video before but it was an extremely powerful one. Is the last 30 seconds of the video what we have ahead of us for Brady and Ness? Hmmmm. Most of that video sounds a lot like what Ness' life was like after Brady left, or at least a good glimpse into his life. I'm drained after that, but I am looking forward to Chapter 5. Great writing, btw! -
Angst is part of most stories it seems, as the characters find new information about their bodies, their mental states, whether they're gay/straight or somewhere on that sliding scale. The new mate, Jacob, may be the catalyst that has our hero 'dump-the-bitch-and-make-the-switch.' Or maybe Amanda will turn out to be the not-so-straight one. Good chapter and yes, the angst and tension seem to be building.

The ocean is clearly in your blood and is a wonderful source of your inspiration. Another interesting start to a story that can go in many directions. I've only heard about the wicked storms in the southern oceans, where some of the largest waves ever recorded have occurred. I'm looking forward to more!

Interesting story with many layers, some I'm not quite sure of just yet. Diaz is transparent in that he wants power, 'turf,' and probably some money to go with that. Hans is a past experience, or sometime lover, although he seems to want more of a relationship than Klaus may have been willing to commit to in their past. I'm guessing that Hans was once an asshole towards Klaus and will forever be on the outside. He may become one of the antagonists, maybe setting up The Wanderers, against Klaus and Diaz' gang. For now, I think a chastity cage may be in Jake's future, as he learns what it is that he does not now know he wants. Keep up the great writing.

I'm ready for Bas to pick-up and go into the outback for a while, or to another cattle station. He appears to have the skills to run almost any cattle station. But maybe in the next chapter, he'll be getting a call about his birth mother, which will let him know that he is one or two steps removed from European royalty or other old money.

Wow, this was a quick chapter. Just when I thought we'd get a fight scene and Liberty ripping this doppelganger a new one...or maybe not.

Great chapter; however, I can see the 3 'students' going to the media and making a lot of noise. Remember the comment that was made about their stranding and someone remarking about being chased by a drug cartel. Is that drug cartel still out there somewhere and will they make an appearance yet again? I look forward to each chapter and like to think about what else is out there for our reluctant heroes.

Ahhh, the plot thickens! What will we find under 'environmental biosecurity,' I wonder. Are quokkas being wiped out? (not sure if they're endemic there or not), or will we find that some invasive animal has been released?

I think it's a great set-up to what should be an interesting story. I look forward to reading how Bas interacts with and controls (or doesn't control) his immediate environment, since it sounds like he has the drive, background knowledge and resourcefulness to leave his cousin Christopher in the dust and to be forever resentful of Bas' success. I know Australia (both land/river and sea) has more poisonous animals and plants than any other country and some do not have anti-venom serum available and it sounds like Bas may be resourceful enough to learn from local 'First peoples,' some of whom he may already know... I look forward to more as always.

A brilliant, fast-paced story that had me anxiously awaiting the next chapter and staying up late to do so sometimes. Quokka's writing never fails to impress me and I hope that he knows that some of these stories would make good mini-series on TV or movies, without reliance on a lot of special effects. I'm a huge fan of Quokka and will continue to read as long as he keeps writing.

Hi CJ; Great 'rant' and well said. I have been guilty of not participating in most discussion forums, but I will say that I have enjoyed 'Circumnavigation' since the very first chapter. It is well written, your characters are very well developed and this story has all the makings of a great movie or even a TV series. There is enough friendship, enmity, subterfuge, good and evil to fill a full season's episodes. I really think you should look into developing this for either a TV show, a movie, or a trilogy of movies. A single movie would not allow enough time for all of the twists and turns. So, this message is to let you know that I'll keep reading and I hope you keep writing. You, Mark Arbour, Jamie Savik, Rick Beck, Sequoyah and many of the others on Awesome Dude, and Gay Authors are some of my favorite writers of any genre. On Circumnavigation, the characters of Lisa and Joel need to be seriously spanked and shut down by their parents. They get in the way of the rest of the story line, in my opinion. Again, it's great writing that I come back to time and time again and you provide it. thanks and safe travels, Skyfowler@usa.net
