Does anyone know where this comes from?

Capella, or Alpha Aurigaeto to astronomers, has been known to humans since ancient times. Only forty-two light years from Sol, it is the sixth-brightest star in earth's Northern sky. Burning a bright yellow-white in the Northern skies, it was dutifully recorded by countless generations of astrologers. The Greeks named it- Capella or "the Goat Star" from which Zeus grew strong drinking her milk. The ancients Ptolemy and Ricciolli recorded it in their writings. It wasn't until spectroscopic o

First Officer Chris Harrison Personal Log Raymond T. Burke 2573.05.12 19:12UT When I first saw course projections for the convoy, I wondered why the fleet was spending so much time between jumps. Capella is only a couple of days out of Sol, but two extra days were penciled in to the mission itinerary. As soon as we emerged from our first jump, the fleet was hailed by the heavy command cruiser Kursk and her battle group of 3 heavy cruisers, four light cruisers, twelve des

Schmit and Harrison talked quietly on the shuttle trip back to Ole Stubby. Bassett and Stewart's revelations about the upcoming mission and the military operations made them both more than a little anxious. If the upcoming convoy and related offensive operations had the potential to be a "back-breaker" for their enemy, the convoy would be a priority target. The enemy would throw everything they had at them. There was a lot to do in very little time. No one was going to sleep until well afte

The Raymond T. Burke was a big, fast kilometer long modular cargo hauler. Relatively new, just three years past shakedown when the war broke out, Ole Stubby as her crew called her, was a member of the Argo Transit Line's newest class of heavy modular cargo transports. Fully loaded she could move 800,000 metric tons of cargo from the core systems out to the rim in a little under six weeks. She took her proper name from a Captain of an old Class III freighter that made his spurs running the S

The Alliance wasn't at all prepared when the enemy slammed into four of the Rim Sectors in 2568. For a year and a half system after system fell until the Alliance finally got its act together and stopped the advance at the Battle of Omicron Ceti in 2570. In the three standard years that followed, the war devolved into a bloody stalemate in which neither side was able to establish clear dominance. The war became nip and tuck across a front 150 light years across. Three years of constant

For the past five years the Galactic Alliance has been fighting to repel an invasion by a relentless enemy. Now it is time to go on the offensive to kick the invaders out of the galaxy

Most places winter is pretty with snow and ice sickles and unicorns. Here in Mississippi, it rarely gets cold enough to freeze. It's just cold, wet and muddy.

Ugh- the weather is cold, dreary and wet. Anybody got a good cave to hibernate in?

For many men, cheating is a pattern of behavior which they will repeat throughout their life. There is some speculation that their own biology programs them to spread their DNA as far and wide as possible! < I'm just too damn smooth.

It all depends on why you go. If you go for the fraternity experience, major in jerking off and minor in smoking dope, the answer would be NO. If you go for a REAL DEGREE like engineering, computer science, Bio, Chem, Physics, Mathematics, etc- then it is well worth it.

The thing about facebook is that you can give it as much or as little information as you feel comfortable with. All that is really required is an email address and its easy enough to get a throwaway. You don't even HAVE to use you proper name or your photo much less your address and phone number. YES- you can use facebook without giving up all of your personal data. You just have to be smart about it.

At least you can see it. Most "heads" are too mellow to notice.

cocaine, weed, booze, violence, tobacco. I've been clean and sober from four out of five for over 6 years.

A while back I was asked to comment on Wolfram Alpha. See what's there. See what I like. See if anything is missing. Never missing an opportunity to comment on anything, qualified or not, I said: For those who don't know or care what a bloody Green's function is, check this. It will build character. Green's Function, formal definition Well- today this was added to Wolfram-Alpha's data bank: My pleasure. I admire old George Green. Anyone who drops out of second grade and teaches himself differential equations is incredibly, indescribably awesome in my humble opinion. < Holy crap that's awesome! BTW... Is Wolfram|Alpha Skynet? Glad we cleared that up.

When in doubt, listen and judge for yourself. Original video played on MTV... that is when MTV played videos and not ALL useless un-reality shows ALL THE TIME. Another example of Dire Straits- the Sultans of Swing. Probably their best known song- certainly one of their oldest c. 1978.

Because I'm old enough to remember when the oldies were new. From Memphis, TN: home of Elvis and great Barbecue, I give you WEGR-FM 102.7 Rock 103. I discovered it in Memphis this week and took them home in the handy streaming audio. This is the email I sent them: Driving home on I-55, I could hear them all the way to Grenada and they played: Pink Floyd, ELP, Journey, Boston, Styx, Aerosmith, Foreigner. Hell- I didn't even think radio stations had albums anymore. Listen in sometime. They are doing it as well as it can be done. I need to send them a thank you note or something. Maybe a keg? Wat 2 do?

I'm a Leo. I refuse to be cancer.

Earlier today I was cruising home down I-55 from Memphis and listening to Rock103, they were playing Pink Floyd's Money. I was jamming it loud. I was laid back. Had a great week. Made a pile of money. Money, it's a gas Grab that cash with both hands And make a stash New car, caviar, four star daydream Think I'll buy me a football team Money get back I'm all right Jack Keep your hands off my stack Money, it's a hit Don't give me that Do goody good bullshit And they bleeped out BS. I mean come on man! WTF are you doing? That's Pink Floyd. That's Money from the Dark Side of the Moon- one of the best selling MOST classic albums of ALL times! Who the f**k are you to censor THEM!? Play it or DON't. But do not censor it. It makes you look like a huge douche.

The makers of 5 hour energy stock split. In Memphis this afternoon I had my first trip to Steak & Shake. Woohoo.

This has been my single best week ever. I won a contract from a big company to roll out a change to their network statewide and replace old network hardware. It all had to take place in one week. Ten sites, state wide. No excuses. Get her done. That's what I did this week. ALL WEEK. ROAD WARRIOR! < now with 35% less kRaZy I have been all over the state. Top to bottom. From the Suburbs of Memphis to the Gulf Coast. Vicksburg in the West to Meridian in the East. I got it done where the BIG PLA-YAS did not bid because they were too big- not swift or nimble enough to get the job done. This is the kind of win that opens doors.
