  1. A very very satisfying ending to an exciting and thought provoking story. I enjoyed it very much. thank you for sharing it with us, and I'll be looking out for your other work

    Chapter 22

A very tense chapter. It really had to be. Lovely job of getting the emotions across. It's clear Kayden has found a place deep in the hearts of everyone there. I'm as glad as any of them that Kayden is alive, at least for now.

    Chapter 21

Oh NO!!!! You can't leave us here for long! That was a thrilling chapter. I was practically yelling at Damien by the end. Why didn't he check on Kayden sooner? He knew the man had a knife for goodness sake!!

    Chapter 20

An attack cat! I laughed at that Having written a story with a catlike character in it. I know how much fun it is to write a kitten, and that playfulness definitely comes across. As much as I am concerned about Roman, I'm loving Kayden's antics.

    Chapter 19

This is so exciting. Poor Jester. Another innocent lost to political ambition. I love that Damian shed a tear over him. Kayden is really coming in to himself and finding his voice. That he would protect his master when he. himself was afraid, was fabulous to see. This really is a great story.

    Chapter 18

This was just an amazing chapter. I loved the interaction between Kayden and Damian, and how Kayden is coming out of his shell

    Chapter 17

I loved this chapter. They've finally had their eyes opened. I loved the part where Damian said Kayden has everyone in the house wrapped around his finger. I'm sure it's true. It's concerning to know what Roman is going to do next. Obviously he won't stop here. Why would he? He has even more reason now.

    Chapter 16

In many ways that chapter was horrific. However, the ending was just so sweet, and at least Roman has received some punishment, which was very richly deserved.

    Chapter 15

I totally agree with what others have said. Yes, Damian was shocked and stunned by Kayden's apparent attack, but he really should have known better. Kayden has been with him for some time and Damian has seen him slowly unwind. He knew what it had cost Kayden to open up to him. He's heard Kayden speak of his past, and knows his character. Yet, he not only allows Kayden to be dragged away from the table by guards, but he doesn't go check on him. Even if he did think Kayden might have attacked him he would have known how frightened Kayden was and I think he richly deserves whatever guilt he feels after this. I truly hope Damian will confront Roman about the previous day and what he did to Kayden. There was absolutely no excuse to do that.

    Chapter 14

That is definitely a step backward. Less likely than ever that Kayden will speak up about what Roman did. But I sympathise with Damien because I don't know there was much more he could have done He had Roman's story checked out which indicates he was ready to believe Kayden to a point but he was right that he couldn't simply accuse Roman on the word of a slave, with the evidence against him. Tricky situation. I really hope Roman will get found out for the evil bastard he is, very soon

    Chapter 13

Another lovely chapter. And the ending is awesome, So much fun.

    Chapter 12

What a lovely chapter. You make the surroundings very vivid, and I walked with them. Yet even in the middle of such sweetness there are thorns. You weave them in so well.
  13. Nephylim

    Chapter 11

That was a super lovely chapter. So sweet I have to worry what it will mean for both of them. I can't see an open relationship being accepted. Should it be a relationship at all when it's so blatantly unequal. I suppose it could be argued that Kayden is not a slave, as he never agreed to it, but if not then what else would he be - not the consort of a Duke and definitely not a king. So will he be a pet, a concubine? It's a knife edge even without Roman. With Roman in the mix! It's only a matter of time before something really bad happens.

    Chapter 10

Aaah yes. This is the chapter that was being commented on earlier It's a beautiful chapter. I'm so glad Damian acted so sensitively. Baby steps, but Kayden is being drawn out, one baby step at a time It's beautiful to see. Just hope Roman doesn't do anything stupid to spoil it all. There is just one tiny thing I find irritating, and that's the constant repetition of the word 'boy'. I don't know if it's deliberate, and if so apologies. It just bothers me a little, that's all.

    Chapter 9

Ah Harrison is a shrewd and observant man. I wouldn't be surprised if he noticed other things very soon. I hope Kayden tells Damian about what Roman did to him, or at least someone. I have the feeling he would definitely be taken seriously if he did, although it might be difficult to do anything about it. The word of a pet would be hardly likely to stand up to that of a lord. I really enjoyed that chapter. I love the way Damien and Kayden's relationship is gradually warming on both sides.

    Chapter 8

Another sweet chapter I'm more and more nervous about Roman, especially after what was said about his mother. I'm sure trouble is brewing there. I'm not quite sure what the reviews are talking about. As far as I can see Kayden hasn't opened up at all. He's only spoken two words. Maybe I've missed something. That chapter provided some badly needed comedy and a sign of genuine fondness by Damian. There's hope!!
  17. Nephylim

    Chapter 7

You have a gift for blending the horrific with the sweet and endearing. Roman in going to be trouble, of that I'm sure. I don't think he can act overtly against Damian, which makes me wonder if he'll go after Kayden instead, or will be even more horrendous and try to remove Damian altogether. Maybe Keyden's experience with the cyanide might come in handy. I have to go out and am cursing that I can't spend more time with Kayden.. I'll be back little one

    Chapter 6

The ending of that chapter, so sweet after so much horror, brought a tear to my eye. Now we know why Kayden is silent, and that he can speak if he wants to. There's hope that he will do so with Damian. Maybe he'll also tell him what a monumental dick his brother is. I have a feeling Roman will try to do something to stop Damian winning the bet. Poor Kayden. It's heartbreaking to see what he's become and I just want to gather him up in my arms and rock him, although I'm not sure how he'd react to that..

    Chapter 5

I'm hooked by this point. Kayden is such an edearing character. I'm totally sold on him and I want him to be well looked after and healed. I think there is a lot to him and if they can get past his fear, Damien will have a shrewd and skilled companion.

    Chapter 4

I meant to say in my last review that I was surprised Kayden's fellow Neko didn't take his inquiry into Kayden's condition further. He must have known from Kayden's clothes there was a lot more blood than he was admitting to, yet he just threw them in the laundry basket. It looks as if there's going to very little help there. Kayden was very brave in the hall. It must have been terrifying for him, especially with Roman there. I was proud of him. It must be a terrible thing to be handed over to a reluctant master who only takes you because of a bet.

    Chapter 3

It was lovely to peep inside Kayden's head. Hearbreaking too. Then, as if he hasn't suffered enough, Roman comes along. I agree, that he is now #1 on my hit list, too. Harrison isn't far behind I have to say because although he is the 'kinder' brother his disregard for another living being in such torment, and his overall treatment of Kayden is shocking and unforgivable. The fact that it is a slave/master society is no excuse, when other slaves are treated with at least a modicum of respect. They are all treating Kayden as little more than a dog. To hear of Kayden's past makes total sense of his current mental condition and it's going to take a lot of gentle handling to get past that. I'm assuming he'll get that from Damien and I sure hope it comes soon. As horrific as this chapter was, I was riveted. You've done an amazing job of evoking emotion in your readers, and that I think, is what writing is all about. To evoke and emotion - good or bad - is to succeed as a storyteller.

    Chapter 2

This is interesting, but heartbreaking.Given that slavery is a two-way street, in that there should at least be some measure of consent, I'm surprised that no one has questioned whether there is any consent at all with this little one. I really felt for Kayden when the skeet shooting was going on. Those things are loud. And I have to admit, I wasn't too unhappy when he raked Roman's arm. I found the whole thing about Kayden being put down to be absolutely chilling. After having been lulled by assurances that euthanasia was only used with the old and sick (which in itself was horrific. but at least logical) to have Roman so casually suggest it for a little boy is just incredulous. If there is an element of choice in slavery why are they talking about 'getting rid of him' just because he's scared and skittish. Shouldn't the real questions be, why is he like that, and does he have any measure of consent at all.

    Chapter 1

I read through the first few chapters last night, as I was curious. I have to admit the story grabbed me, so I decided to come back to the beginning and leave reviews, as short as they may be, because I've grown to love the story and especially the little Neko. I'm really struggling at the moment not to flick further on to see what happens

    Chapter 20

Yes, Sacha is in a bit of a dream at the moment, what with his injuries and the meds. But he can still tell real from imaginary when it comes to Nik. From this point on Sacha's life changes quite radically and it's surprising how far he goes. But for now, he's a hurt, confused, sick little boy who's like a flower bud saved from the frost, that is very slowly opening.
  25. Nephylim

    Chapter 20

Nik will be a very good friend to Sacha, but will it be enough? Will Sacha find love so soon and so easily? Of course not!!
