This is a story about a young man from Sweden who loves chess and looks for like-minded friends. The story is set in several countries at a very interesting time in chess history, the early 1970s. It is not a story about the game of chess as such but it contains references to actual players and famous games.

With the Coronavirus is running rampant, Society is isolating. As students leave for Spring Break, Cal's parents tell him to stay at school to avoid exposing his frail grandmother to the virus. Alone in the dorm, he is startled to hear someone knocking on doors and calling out to see if anyone else is there. When Cal opens the door, he is stunned to find the fantastic-looking guy from room 315 at his door. What will happen next? Will Cal's secret fantasies come true?
