Growing Wings And Other Things - 5. Laughing In French

A poem about my love and Obsession about learning French. Enjoy it

I want to speak French
My obsession comes from a long time ago
Ever since I was little
I've always wanted to know
How to speak the language
How to read and write
I spent days bugging my friends
I spent hours dreaming at night

So I downloaded an app
To help me learn
But it turns out
I'm no good at that
I want to speak French
So I can fly to the land
Of artistry and love
Because I know I can speak like the people
Even learn their slang

Will it ever happen?
Will my brain remember?
All the words I'll learn
Will it stay with me forever?
Try something else they say
Why don't you go outside
I'd rather pretend to be French
Read under my blankets and hide
But it'll get you nowhere
You'll never leave this town
Someday I'll laugh in French
Tell my friends how you tried to keep me down

I can't speak French yet
Is it really that hard?
Oh I'm so frustrated
Too frustrated to start
But if I give it a chance
And when I think of the day
When I can finally say
Vive la France
Life is better this way

A poem about my love and Obsession about learning French. Enjoy it
