Growing Wings And Other Things - 6. Mama

I think this is a beautiful poem. I'm proud of myself for writing it.

Mama Mama I thirst
Can't you make a plan?
My child it is difficult
Why can't you understand?
Mama I thirst
My throat is dry like the sand
My child I see no hope
No hope in this land
Mama my belly is crying all day
Hush now my child
Mama will find a way
Mama I want to play like the other girls and boys
Don't be foolish my child
I can't think with all this noise
Mama I'm a child
And a child needs toys
Child life is hard enough
Your begging annoys
Mama why don't we leave this place?
I believe in believing my child
I believe in it's grace
Mama you have grown just earlier you had no hope
Mama you have grown wings
Yes my child I've grown amongst other things
Mama I wish I could be like you and look forward to another day
Mama my soul cries every night
My child all you have to do is bow your head and pray
Mama why can't I wear clothes like the others?
I'm laughing now my child
We don't dream of such things
Here in the gutters
Mama I know money is scarce
But Mama I know your loving will last
Mama have I ever told you
You are so beautiful and strong
My child how you break my heart
How could you be so wrong?
Mama listen! I know what I say
You taught me humility
My life would be empty
By your side I will stay
My child those words I will never forget
Mama swear on papa's grave
Mama let's make a bet.
Mama the most important thing I have not said
Yes my child? Are you afraid we won't make it through?
No Mama
I Love You

What did you think?
