The Poetry of M - 2. Lost Sentinels

Astride my steed

In the gray mist
I tug on the lead
hung in my fist

I see a lone tree
as Old as the Fair
Leaves growing free
in the heavy air

At once, behold, a memory
ablaze in crystalline vision
I upon a promontory
behold my lost habitation

Warm summer light sifts
Through golden spaces
As a sweet sigh lifts
Fine branching laces

Memory. A tree
There a survivor
An emerald key
And sylvan brother

Remnant, as am I
To things long unseen
but to my green eye
A tear brings with a keen
Thanks for reading!
~hugs~
