Microphone, check!

You’re just too good to be true,
still, I screwed things up with you,
You’d be like heaven to touch
but I have messed up too much.

A simple ‘sorry’ won’t do,
that’s why I sing and dance too,
I throw myself to your feet
well and true on the hot seat.

Since then I’m feeling all blue.
Is that a smile? Oh God! Whew!
Now they can lead me away
and I am ready to pay.

If they can catch me, that is!

waiting for you,
you are late,
but the seat beside me
stays empty.
The coke is too large,
the popcorn too much,
the space too vast
but the seat beside me
stays empty.
The movie begins,
I turn to you,
want to take your hand
but the seat beside me
stays empty.
You were so looking forward to this,
told me you could hardly wait,
wanted to know the end,
but the seat beside me
stays empty.
I go home alone,
do not stay for the credits
like we normally do
because the seat beside me
is empty.
As my life is without you.
