Previously posted in Poetry, moved to where it belongs
It never was a matter of love,
but of timing.
Love in your eyes shone with such ferocity
I was blinded.
Love poured through my eyes, through my mouth,
Through my soul.
Fort a brief moment
I felt the conviction
that we could love each other,
that we could hold each other til the end of time.
I could have loved you forever,
I could have been yours forever.
It was never a matter of love,
But of timing.
Timing was so odd I could feel my heartbeat
As a clock ticking against us.
Our heartbeats were one,
but they both were off.
