Home Away From Home - 7. Chapter 7

During dinner they discussed what they were going to do tomorrow. Rita agreed to run with the guys if they agreed to start at 9. The men all agreed, among them selves, they would meet in the gym at 7 for a workout. That would give them an hour before running. Dinner was excellent and so was the chatter. Tony and Carlo talked about school. Anthony joined in and talk about the colleges he was considering. His goal was to become a doctor, which gave Carlo the opportunity to mention that the university he was attending had one of the best medical schools in the country. This perked up Rita as well as Anthony. You could see the gears grinding in Rita’s head. In her mind, Anthony will be going to the same university as Carlo. If it be known, Anthony was thinking the same thing.

After dinner and a leisurely stroll, the boys decided to go for a midnight swim. Rita was all for that because she knew what Carlo’s swim suit looked like. She fantasied what that enormous cock would look like in that brief swim suit. She started to laugh thinking what Anthony would think. Tony looked at his wife and wondered what she was thinking. When they got back to their rooms, the boys went to theirs to change, Rita told Tony what she was laughing about. She told him that she thought Carlo was a good sensible boy who she would like for Anthony to fall in love with. She told him about how considerate Carlo had been and how he reacted to other guests that she had observed. Then she told him about making him buy the skimpiest bathing suit that could be classified as barely legal. Tony had to see this, he convinced his wife to join him at the pool.

Thirty minutes later two boys left their room with towels wrapped around their waist heading for the pool. Rita had been peeking out the window waiting for the boys to pass. Tony was laughing at his wife’s antics.

As soon as the boys got to the pool they dropped the towels. Anthony’s eyes almost popped out of his head. He hadn’t seen Carlo change into his trunks. When he came out of the bathroom, Carlo had already changed and had a towel around himself. So when he dropped the towel at the pool, Anthony saw the smallest and tightest bathing suit in had ever seen. He knew that if all worked out, he'd want to spend the rest of his life with this man. Anthony wasn’t a fool, he knew the difference between love and lust. He recognized what he felt looking at Carlo in the bathing suit, was lust.

The boys dove into the pool and hopefully Carlo’s swim suit did not come off. The boys swam and horsed around for about 30 minutes before Rita and Tony joined them. They all swam, having a good time. Tony whispered to Carlo, “I wouldn’t wear those trunks doing the day. If those old women saw you, they’d have a heart attack and maybe a few of the boys also.”

“I only wore them tonight for Rita. She insisted I buy these, they are for private eyes only.”

“Speaking of private eyes, how are you and Anthony doing?”

“I find Anthony a great guy but we have been together less than 24 hours. I feel there's something there and the possibilities are there. In my view the probabilities are high. But we both have an education to finish, more him than me. In two years I’ll have my BS degree but he’s looking at 8 years plus internship. So for him it’s important.”

“What do you think about stability? Theoretically being in a stable, loving relationship could reduce the stress of getting an education.”

“That takes time to get to that phase. There’s the courtship phase, where you need to discover each other. To do a thorough job that will last a life time, isn’t going to happen in a summer. Don’t get me wrong, I like Anthony and I’m willing to do my part to reach that plateau. For me it would be like climbing Mount Everest a multitude of times. I’m only part of the equation, Anthony is the other part. I personally think he’s fantastic and that’s after less than 15 hours.”

“I look forward to you working for me.” With that comment, he left Carlo and headed for his wife who was in a discussion with Anthony.

“You need to tell him that. He probably already knows, be open, he’s a good guy with a good head on his shoulders.”

“Who is a good guy with a good head on his shoulders?”

“We were discussing Carlo.”

"He and I just had a discussion. I look forward to having him on my team. He’s a solid thinker. What do you think Ants?”

“I like him but it’s like a cake, it takes time to bake. Will see what course everything takes.”

“Come on Tony, let’s go. We have a run tomorrow.”

As Rita and Tony leave, Anthony heads over toward Carlo, who is wondering what the family confab was all about. “Carlo, we should go to bed, 7 comes pretty early.”

“Yep, let’s go.”

Arriving in their room, Tony and Rita discuss their conversations with the boys. “I think that Carlo would make a great son-in-law. We discussed Ants and their future. He fully understands what's ahead for Ants. He doesn’t want to mess that up. I think he'd be a stabling influence in Ants’ life.”

“I have come to know him while I have been here. He’s very considerate and has his head screwed on straight. I agree, I wouldn’t mind him being our son-in-law.”

“Anthony, you up to shower together to rinse off the chlorine?”

“Sure we have already did it once together, so what would another time be?”

After showering together, a kiss good night two boys fell asleep. It turns out that Anthony likes to snuggle which Carlo was all in favor. The boys fell into a deep sleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow.

It seemed all too soon that the phone rang for a 7 am wake up call. Two sleepy boys crawled out of bed and headed for the bathroom. Carlo emptied his bladder in the toilet while Anthony emptied his in the shower.

Pulling on some running shorts, socks and shoes the boys headed out to meet Tony for the gym. “We can run when your mother joins us at 9. I have ran with her before, she sets a nice tempo.”

They headed for the gym where they worked out under the eyes of the gym instructor. The boys had a good work out and then they headed for the run with Rita. Tony stayed, so it was only the boys and Rita. On the last 1/2 mile the boys turned it on and were cooling down when Rita caught up to them.

“I think tomorrow I’ll run with your dad. You guys have too much energy.”

“No, we can slow up for you till the last half mile then we’ll spur it on. Just like today.”

“Let’s go and get cleaned up and then we’ll have some breakfast.”

I think most parents have 'pet' names for their kids. I'm not going to tell you what mine was 😀

Ant or Ants as a nickname for Anthony is not uncommon.  The kid next door didn't like Tony as a nickname and is called Ant by his family and friends, otherwise it's Anthony...Of course that kid is like 25 now and making a career in the Army.

Such a validating and loving chapter to read. Parents of course want the very very best for their children ... often times as long as it conforms to the norms of society. How refreshing to read of two loving parents that embrace and validate their son and want the very best for him that will make HIM happy. The emotions of that kind of love just reach out and embrace the reader and make a great story even that much more heartfelt and rewarding to read. Thank you and, as always, I look forward to what lay ahead. ❤️

Once again you have created some interesting characters. Carlos, Anthony, and the parents are the kind of people that would make good friends. I like the way Tony and Rita are playing matchmaker! Carlos is very mature for someone his age. His parents did a good job raising him. I have enjoyed this story so far, and I look forward to reading more! Thanks.

I'm sure there are parents who likewise would love their gay son, but none would go the extra miles that Rita went. Well, maybe in their way, they have done as much as Rita and Tony
