Lucifer's Almanac - 1. Chapter 1

My good friend Lucifer decided to try his hand at prose.

I hear the cries of souls

wrenched from tortured bonds

of corporeal existence as they pass

into their final season

No fragrant blossoms greet those

whose grievous sins

bring them to my realm

to wither without the rain

Hope dies in the scorching heat

where nothing is found to

quench the insufferable thirst of

an unending summer’s furnace

Where once refreshing breezes blew

are shivering whispers of falling leaves

as trees shed their colorful cloaks

Leaving them naked under cold gray skies

On the desolate dark plains I watch

my kingdom freeze over

laughing at those who dared to prophesize

realizing the time is nigh

Cries of desperate souls beg

for impossible salvation; they are

mine to rule with molten chains and shackles

binding them for an eternal season

Thanks for reading and thanks to @Mikiesboy for putting up with my feeble initial attempts.

An interesting glimpse at what you think hell would be like, and if true, it's one place I certainly wouldn't want to spend eternity.  Thank  you for sharing this interesting work, @kbois, although I hope those images don't come back to haunt me in my dreams.  😈

Aww... my Lucifer has a fun side. Most of my Krew will be heading that way... I'll be driving the express train.

I think Billy Joel got it right... I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.

Thanks for reading!

"And now for something completely different".... I had to consume this a few times, and it is overall delicious for something so bleak. I think I picture you tongue in cheek, but I really can't be sure. The glee I felt in that final verse was brilliant. I picture Lucifer rubbing his hands together. :P

Actually, I got something powerful from each verse... the first and second grabbed me by the throat. Well done!!!

Yes... Lucifer is a bit tongue in cheek... but we can never forget he's the devil.

Poetry is completely different for me. I see it as a chance to learn something new.

Thanks for reading!
