Changes - 1. Changes

Heavy jackets, hats, and scarves weigh down the coat rack, and underneath boots stand in muddy puddles of molten snow. Brr...

Water drips rhythmically down the slicker's sleeve, narrowly avoiding the wellies leaning against the trunk of the lighter coatrack. Hope.

A worn straw hat hangs on the hook by the door and sways with the salty breeze that comes through the open windows bringing the scent of roses, lilac, and sunscreen. Colorful flip-flops lie haphazardly in a pile of sand on cool terracotta tiles. Sigh.

Checkered flannel bumps shoulders with furry parkas, shuffling for space on the crowded rack. Hiking boots and sneakers stand toe-to-toe, facing off among scattered leaves. Whew.

Thank you for reading our poem.

A relatable, poetic way to cycle us through the seasons. As @centexhairysub said, it is delightful. The smell of lilac... sigh.... Thanks, guys. Cheers.

Truly delightful, and so descriptively accurate about the situation.

Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed our poem.

Right?

Sorry for the delayed response, I'm living through some family trouble. Alzheimer's is a dreadful sickness.

An interesting look at the 'four seasons', Adi, and each one brought vivid images to my mind as I was reading them.

Your title, "Changes" reminded me of the song "Changes" by David Bowie and the catchy lyric -  ch-ch-ch-ch- changes.  I'm still humming that tune.    Wonderful job!
