The Prisoner of Carronne - Prologue. Prologue

Well folks, with The Mardi Gras Murders finally done and dusted, it's time to look elsewhere. Over Christmas and New Year, I dusted off some of my unfinished stories and decided it was time the status of this one changed!

This one was started way back when, and has been sitting idle for about ten years or so now. I have eleven chapters completed and they have been given a fresh edit, so  now it's time for them to be given another chance. Chapter twelve is almost completed as well, so I plan to be posting them at a rate of two chapters a week. That'll be the next six weeks covered, and hopefully I'll have the remaining chapters completed by then! :)

Welcome to a world where everything is not quite as it seems; a world of myth and mystery, of knights and castles and dragons, and where love knows no boundaries.

For many hundreds of years, the brave and loyal knights of the Order of the Dragon have served and protected the King and the people of the Five Lands of Candor, but when they are defeated in battle by the forces of the usurper, the Dark Lord, Septimus, the entire known world changes. As the Dark Lord assumes power, aided by a treaty with the surviving members of the Grand Council, the knights who are left scatter to the four winds, helping where they are needed and doing what good they can, all the while being hunted down by the forces of Septimus, who shall not rest until every last knight, along with the surviving heirs of the King, have been disposed of. Only then will he be able to bypass the Council and claim what he sees as rightfully his: the Golden Crown of Jeebath.

This is the story of those who are standing in his way!

Not a genre which holds any interest for me @Mark Ponyboy Peters; I have only chosen to read the Prologue because you have written it.

I must say the Dark Lord, Septimus, is awfully familiar. Has he been transplanted into the 21st century? I just hope he does NOT manage to trump the forces of good with his forces of evil.

@Summerabbacat yeah, I know this kind of stuff isn't everybody's cup of tea, but as I recall, when I started writing it, I was looking to write stories that were different from some of the others I had written, in style and subject. It could probably do with a rock and roll soundtrack, ya know! LOL

It will not likely get a rock and roll soundtrack from me, maybe an R&B soundtrack.

I like SF but not much of a fantasy fan. (And I know a lot of people can't tell the difference.) The sort of fantasy I do get into usually isn't the traditional dark lords, castles, dragons, etc. kind.  But, I will give it the read through because I have found a good author can overcome all my dislikes.  I sure hope those people (above) who have opted-out of reading will give your work (or at least this one) a second chance.
