Subversive - A Collection of Poetry - 13. Prayer Of A Sati On The Funeral Pyre

Prayer Of A Sati On The Funeral Pyre

Flame my dearest flame
Lover incarnate
I offer my wings to you, my heart,
My beauty overcast
I offer my sentient thoughts
My flame
Burn deeper than the mundane blames
That colour my desire
Purify my pyre
My actions
Decorate my body in your immutable fractions
Conceal my burden
Cover my indignity from this voyeuristic world
Read my stars in my nuptial guerdon
My embrace to my climax unfurled
Beguile and set asunder
What society had decided to keep
Hidden from that you render
Unspoiled vistas of deliberate yield
The promises you build
Flame my dearest flame
Let me not return to this unsightly frame
Of half-fashioned clay

Written with your usual brilliance.  I learned a new word, too.  I had to look up 'guerdon'.  Thanks for sharing. :)

Your poem always stun me and brilliance make me fumble. I have too learn some new words from your poems. It should have sound sad but it sounded beautiful. Thanks for sharing...
