Subversive - A Collection of Poetry - 12. A Stranger's Happiness

A Stranger's Happiness

If I could make the world a happier place for you, I would
I would become a red balloon wiggling in the wind

just to see you smile
I would turn into the grandest eagle and soar

Towards unknown heights to see

The wonder in those eyes
I would walk a million miles and

Then a million more

Only to find the sweetest smelling flower

To adorn your bouquet

Unfortunately, for you I am just a passing fad.

This was so sweet, but the last line was so sad.  Exquisitely written, as always.

My heart soars to the sky with you, trembles in the wind, sighs in wonder at the panoramas below...a beautiful poem. The last line is so sad by contrast. But the whole is lovely.

We often feel like that when we give importance to someone who doesn't even know that we exist. But your poem my friend, I feel for it. Its lovely, yet a heart breaking truth. I hope you are healed...
