Subversive - A Collection of Poetry - 10. Pandora's Song

Pandora's Song

Pandora, Pandora
Open the box
Show what you're hiding from me

Monday night
I'm ticking with the clock
Long day gone
by riding with the flock
Stupid reasons
Clash in my mind
Lost seasons
I pushed them behind

Pandora, Pandora
Open the box
Show what you're hiding from me

Was it my
Fault to break up with you
Should it have
Been something I knew
Did you ever
Give me a sign
That the things
They aren't looking as fine

Pandora, Pandora
Open the box
Show what you're hiding from me

Lost seasons
They don't come back
Sweet reasons
An' trust they lack
If only love
Was not that lie
That we
Told each other
When we fight

Pandora, Pandora
Open the box
Show what you're hiding from me

In dreams or in reality

"Lost seasons" - you mentioned it twice, which is poignant. Sometimes, we must go through the seasons, even through drudgery, to find the summer sun.

Your poem is heartfelt and relatable. Thank you for sharing.

The interplay of Hope was what I wanted to express by reiterating "Lost Seasons". The yearning & self doubt never really go away.

Thanks for reading. :)

If only love

Was not that lie.

I can feel for you Sas. As I already said in responses somewhere else; Pandora and her box(as Ben says it) always amuses me. Your poem was really good. Thanks for sharing with us...
