Cailen's Poem Archive - 10. Bluebells
In a land in a dream, perhaps a memory
I sit beneath the shade of the bluebell tree
I cast my glance beyond the sea of green
The grazing cattle can be heard, not seen
I lay back lazily against the wood
And my smile widened I dared it could
A man approached his dog in stride
He waved to me and my heart sighed
He asked ‘what I was doing out all alone’
I said ‘to be here on my own’
He smiled asked if I ‘wanted company’
I told him to stay awhile with me
He reached out and grasped my hand
I took his and together we stand
His eyes met mine and in their bliss
He leaned, to meet me in passions kiss
When I opened them the man was gone
I was alone in the woods all along
My lips burned still and gazing long
The bluebells danced in silent song
