Cailen's Poem Archive - 6. Dropout
Written when I dropped out of school.
Standing at the crossroads of my life
Looking towards the distant sunset
Shining a warm glow in the sky
Facing my future
And all the while looking behind
I have a lifetime of sad moments
Things that I rather regret
But all of those things are where I came from
Where I am going, I do not know yet
There are limitless possibilities
But I know I haven’t the time
To choose as many as all of them
So I despair and say I am fine
But I feel that sunset catching up on me
And I know the darkness draws in tight
So I must choose my path and then follow it
While I still have the light
