Autumn - Prologue. Dedication

With my sincere thanks...

After discovering gay themed fiction on the Internet, I became an avid reader; soon developing a few favorite stories and authors. Those men, and their tales, provided the inspiration for my writing. To them I dedicate this story.

Jack Scribe
The late Mr. Scribe created masculine characters who personified what I always felt most gay men should be.

Gabriel Morgan
’52 Panhead seemed to have been custom written for me―a romance revolving around a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. I still hope at some point, the story is completed.

Tim Mead
In the universe he created, characters from one series interacted with those from others, something I’ve tried to emulate. Each and every one of his stories is a great read. At one point, Mr. Mead recommended I read something by an Australian author he was enjoying at the time.

Marcus McNally
The Aussie it was suggested I read was Mr. McNally; the story was Love on the Rocks. I was paid a high compliment when my writing was compared to his. Marc has encouraged and supported my writing efforts, and was kind enough to allow me to borrow his characters. Currently he’s publishing Love on the Rocks – Five Years On.

Very well done. I too think all four authors have contributed much and also are to be commended and recommended.

Thanks, Dave. There are others I've enjoyed reading but those four stand out in my mind.

Scribe's gone, Morgan's missing, Mead's retired in Central Florida and hasn't published anything in a long time. McNally is the only one still at it. He's young so hopefully he'll keep at it after he wraps up the LOTR story.

Thanks for the comment, very much appreciated.

I have only read McNally and I love his stories. With recommendations from you and all the reviewers I fear my "to read" list just got longer.

For the other reviewers, as a beta reader, I strongly recommend "Autumn" by Carlos Hazday - it's a bloody good read :)

Thanks, mate!

Morgan's story is special to me 'cause it revolves around a Harley, but it's unfinished. Start of with Scribe's Splash in the Pool. Most of his other stories follow directly or are somehow related. You can find them here on GA.

Should have something new for you in the next day or so! :D

I'm pleased that you are resuming the story with CJ. You left us "high and dry" with his arrest by some over-zealous police. I know you have some secrets in store, but CJ's father and dad wield significant influence in DC.
It's interesting to learn about your favorite authors. I read stories on Gay Authors, Awesome Dude, Nifty, and a couple of other sites almost every day.

Hey, Les.

Thanks for the comments! The ending of Summer came about due to a multitude of reasons, but I made it clear at the end of the Epilogue the story would continue.

Some claim there were cliffhangers but I think it was more like hitting the pause button so we could use the toilet and get a snack (after washing our hands of course).

All the questions, and more, will be answered starting next Wednesday. It'll take a few chapter to sort it all out but we'll get there.

Just so you know, 'All I'm Thinkin' About' the first chapter of Autumn has already been posted to GA and set to automatically publish @ 4:00 am US Eastern DST on July 1.

I'm looking forward to hearing the reactions to it. And to the chapters which will follow on a weekly basis.

Carlos,
I agree with your opinion of the four great writers that you mentioned..I have laughed and cried, been hopeful and depressed and horney. I would heartily recommend all of them to those who have not had the pleasure of there gifts.
If I could, I would also like to recommend Terrence Audette.....he's found on NIfty as well as his own website.....www.mygaystories.com His writing is very touching to me.
Your style of writing is empowering.....I feel good about myself when reading your stories......keep up the good work..........You should e included in this listing of influencial gay writers.........:) Mike

Hey, Mike!

It's good to have you back on board. Thank you for the compliments. Those four men have written the kind of stories I want to be able to write.

So far I'm pleased with what I've written for Autumn. It's not there yet but I already feel it's better story telling than Summer was. I look forward to hearing what you think!
