Death in the Honeymoon Hotel - 6. Chapter 6

About fifteen minutes later Mike Forman exited his room. He was wearing a speedo swimsuit similar to the one in the security tapes. Tom grew smug; his theory was correct. Mike was going to cruise the pool area for his next victim. George noted that he didn’t even have a towel with him, and he concluded he had no intention of swimming. Yes, they both thought. This is our man.

As Forman approached the elevator Tom and George ran towards it. They were both naked.

“Hold the elevator,” Tom screamed. It appeared that the two men had just come out of a room, and Forman thought nothing of it. Homophobe or not, he did take a quick look at the genitals of the two men with whom he was about to share the elevator. It bothered him that the fags were so much bigger than he was. Suddenly, out of nowhere another naked man entered the elevator. It was one of the undercover cops.

The moment the elevator door closed two other cops let themselves into room 304 with a pass key. The planted two bugs and left quickly and silently.

On the elevator, George ignored the cop, who was much older than the other three young men. He said candidly to Forman, “Hey handsome, if you’re going cruising at the pool, I can save you lots of time. My friend isn’t interested in threesomes, but I’d be happy to return to your room as a twosome. There are four of us sharing our room so it wouldn’t be convenient to go there. That’ll save me a lot of time also.”

Forman didn’t like the idea of going to his room, but he was willing to take the risk. He answered George by smiling at him.

When they reached the lobby, Tom and the cop exited the elevator, but the bellboy got on with a suitcase and a fully dressed middle-aged man. He was another cop.

The naked cop, who got off the elevator with Tom, grabbed a pair of gym shorts from behind the registration desk. He also opened a small box and put a wireless plug in his ear. He could now hear the voices in room 304.

“You stay here,” the cop said. “Your father and at least one other cop are watching you. The rest of us will be right outside the door where your brother went with Forman.”

The elevator returned to the lobby, and the cop got on it. As soon as the doors closed, Joe appeared out of nowhere.

“Where are your clothes,” he asked Tom.

“In the manager’s office.”

Joe spoke in the sternest voice he could muster. “Get dressed and get in your car and drive right back to The Honeymoon Hotel. When you get there, go to your room, or go to the pool, or go to breakfast, but stay out of my room.”

“Why?”

“Because Alex and Ken will be waiting for reports from the undercover cops, and I don’t want you disturbing them any more than you two idiots already have.”

Tom did as he was ordered, but he was pissed. In the car he couldn’t imagine why Joe didn’t want him to wait for news with his father and Alex. After all, it was his brother who was in great danger. Before he got to the hotel, he knew he would disobey that segment of Joe’s orders.

He entered his room, and silently opened the adjoining door. He never expected to see what he saw. Alex was fucking his father in the missionary position. Both men were murmuring how wonderful it felt. Tom would have loved to have joined them, but he knew that his dad would kill him if he made his presence known.

He retreated back into his own room and shut the door as silently as he could. The fact that a stranger was fucking his father didn’t bother him at all. He knew that his dads were not monogamous. Neither were George and he, but Alex was a shocker. The guy was married, had two kids, and a beautiful wife.

For the first time in his life, Tom felt that the world was too confusing for him.

******

When George and the suspect entered room 304, the naked George plopped down on the bed. Forman just stared at him.

“Aren’t you going to get out of your swimsuit?” George asked.

“In a minute,” Forman said. “I just need to get something out of my suitcase.”

“What?”

“You’ll see in a minute.”

That minute never came. The door to the room flew open and Forman was relieved of the knife in his hand, which the cop carefully put into an evidence bag. He was in handcuffs quicker than Superman’s speeding bullet.

******

The next morning there was a knock-on Ken and Joe’s hotel room door. George and Tom were in the room waiting for their fathers to get ready, and to take them out to breakfast.

Ken opened the door and pulled Alex in. The two men kissed passionately, and then Alex kissed Joe with equal passion. Tom had an inkling of what was going on, but George’s jaw was hanging low.

“I’d like to take y’all out to breakfast,” Alex said. It was the first time that anyone had noticed that Alex had a minor southern accent. Then Alex looked at Ken.

“After breakfast,” he said, “I’d like to spend a little time with you and Joe going over the case. We might never see each other again, and I want to make sure that all the loose ends are sewn up.”

“Of course.”

“Ken looked at his sons, “We and Alex have business to discuss, and you guys have given us enough grief,” he said. “After breakfast, go somewhere and leave us alone. Go swimming; make love; go pick up a handsome stud to enhance your love making but leave us alone.”

Tom knew what that was all about, but George wondered why Ken was being so adamant. Tom knew that as soon as they were alone, he would have to tell George what he had seen when he returned to the hotel yesterday.

At breakfast Alex filled them in. “The guy’s real name is Michael Freeman. When I learned that, it rang a bell in my head. I checked my records. When he was fourteen years old, Michael was found in an alleyway near to death. He was lucky enough to recover, but no wonder he went insane. It seems that he was walking home from school one day, when two big guys overpowered him. He knew who they were. They were seniors at the high school where he was a freshman. They were gay, and everyone made fun of them. I figure that with all that abuse, they might have been a little unhinged also.”

“What did they do to him?” George asked. He was afraid of the answer.

“They brutally beat him up and raped him multiple times. They left him for dead, but he didn’t die. He testified against them, and they both got twenty-five years. They will become eligible for parole after they ‘ve served fifteen years. Now three lives are ruined.”

“What happened to Michael after the hospital discharged him?” Tom asked.

“Funny you should ask. Nobody could find his parents. They vanished during his hospital stay, so we had no choice but to put Michael into foster care.”

When Alex said that Tom grabbed George’s hand. George did indeed need some comforting.

During breakfast, Tom called the two new friends they had met at the gay bar. They arranged that Tom and George would pick them up, and they would go to that gay nude beach in Ft. Lauderdale. They had used that visit as a decoy, so they figured they would make it come true. Also, they were very curious. They had never been to a nude beach before. After breakfast, Tom and George got in their car and took off.

The three older men ran back to the hotel. For the next three hours they made love. They had male sex in every combination, and with every sexual act they could dream up. When they were all totally spent, Alex got dressed. He kissed his benefactors with tears in his eyes. He knew that they would probably not see each other again.

“Thanks,” he said.

“For what?” Joe asked.

“For helping me catch a serial murderer, but even more important than that, thank you for saving my life.”

Well all good things must come to an end. This is the final installment of the adventures of Ken, Joe, Tom and George.

This Ken Hall series of stories has been entertaining and fun reads, which is an unusual thing to say about murder mysteries. I think it was due to the short chapters, excellent and lovable main characters, and the stories, left a lot of room for us the readers to speculate on the possible theories and clues/misdirects given. I dare say that we had a lot of fun with that! 😀  I definitely would enjoy a more in depth version of this cast in the future.  Thanks @chris191070, for the good tales, and the inappropriate but very creative responses to our comments.  ❤️

Thanks for reading 😊

I echo what @Paladin said if you could have them make an occasional appearance that would be awesome.

If I remember right this was in the 90's maybe a little later . A controversial head sheriff in the state of Nevada allowed his cops to get naked in arresting prostitutes (prostitution is legal in Nevada so it must have been for other crimes) The news coverage of that was controversial.I'm curious that that cop that got on the elevator violated regulations

Thanks for reading 😊

Well, that's another murderer caught and in jail. As it turns out he was reacting to abuse he received in his youth, but that is not really an excuse, what happened? Didn't therapy help, or didn't he have any? Tom and George need to be careful or one day one or both of them could get seriously hurt.

Now I have to be patient waiting for the next case.
