Trials and Tribulations is the first book in a series — a coming‑of‑age story about Andy Collins and his friends. As Andy begins to understand his sexual orientation, he and the boys must also confront abuse, secrets, and a murder that haunts the small mining town of Pine Hills, hidden in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

How do you write a story that is a rollercoaster of emotion and gains gripping pace as it unfolds? I don't know but @Billy Martin does and this story is full of it as Andy Collins lives his adolescent life. I don't want to say too much or I may give away the story so I suggest that others should read and enjoy it for themselves, it is a really good story that I recommend.

Teenager Andy Collins has a lot on his plate as he struggles with illness and bigotry, but pulls through thanks to the loyalty of his best friend, the love of his boyfriend, a limitless supply of money, and a father who is also a judge. Andy's kind heart and forgiving nature makes him a very likable boy and his health issues ensure a certain amount of sympathy. This is a good story with an unusual setting. Well worth reading.

Great story with a cast of engaging characters, As the author mentioned this is not about sex but romance and love. My only issue is this seems to be the beginning of a much longer tale. There are so many questions left unanswered, I don't know if there was supposed to follow ups but I enjoyed it anyway, even though I desperately wanted to hear what happens to the boys and their families.
