Path Forward - 2. Chapter 2

Jesus Searched and He Found Me

By Brandon Haines

Jesus left the ninety-nine to search for me-

Not because I didn’t Believe

Becausse I did and still do Believe

That God is Real- and that Christ is

The Only Way to the Father.

But because I was in Extreme Danger

From wandering too close to the Alluring

Falsehoods of the Fence-

Jesus came searching for me and He found me before

I was consumed by the Wolf.

I may not be the Strongest, I may not be the Loudest-

I was just the Brokenhearted child in the pit.

And He came and Rescued me.

Not because I clinmbed out,

But because He couldn’t bear

To leave me there-

Not one moment longer.

He came and carried me out. Now I stand-

Not alone but Anoited.

I will stand with Jesus in the Battle.

Because He not only stood with me

He protected me in the pit.

In moment of sorrow

We may feel far from Him

But in Reality

We are closer to God than Ever before.

Not because we climbed

But because He pulls us in.

So here I kneel-

Armored in Grace, head bowed in

Surrender,

Sword planted in Holy Ground

Not to fight alone,

But to follow the One who Fought for me.

The Battlefield was the pit

That nearly beat me-

When I thought of throwing

The towel of life down.

But Jesus came,

Not with armor clashing

But with Mercy rushing in-

He fought for me

When I had no fight left.

Now I Rise-

Clothed in the armor of Grace,

Belted in Truth- that held me together

When everything else fell apart.

I kneel not in Defeat,

But in Devotion.

Sword grounded head bowed,

Willing to carry His Cross- Ready to stand with Jesus,

Because He stood with me so many times.

So here I kneel

Armored in Grace, head bowed in

Surrender,

Sword planted in Holy Ground,

Belted in Truth, Shielded by Faith,

Helmeted in Salvation,

Clothed in Righteousness,

Feet ready with Peace,

Hands steady in Prayer.

And across my chest- the seventh and final piece, yet most

Important:

The Cross.

My public display to show not only

What I stand for

But Who I stand for.

The Cross that Claimed me,

The Love that Saved me,

The Reason I Rise despite the ache.
