Black Sun

When a voicemail arrives, Simon is forced to confront not only the wreckage of a love that lit up his world and nearly destroyed it, but he must also confront his own sins born from his inability to come to terms.

What follows is a haunting, intimate descent through denial, addiction, and the lies we cling to when there's nothing else left.  And the brutal strength it takes to finally let go.

This isn't a love story. It's a story of what survives after.

Rated M for Mature.  This story depicts addiction to alcohol, drug use, suicide, graphic violence, rape and all the bad things associated with all the above. Reader Discretion is advised.

This is a great story and I recommend it to anyone who can stomach it's themes. But this is the darkest story I've read by a mile, so think it through carefully before deciding on whether to read it. The reason I love this story is because it digs deep into the emotional impact of what happens, but the reason I warn you is the nature of themes it digs into. If you can handle it, you should definitely read it.

I hope these five stars gets the attention of readers who haven't read this for this is a story worth reading. But I caution everybody this story is very dark.If it's not the darkest story on GA it is definitely the darkest I ever reviewed.

I can't put into words the raw honesty this talented author has put forth but I promise you that you'll be blown away. This may be difficult to read at time but trust me it is well worth it

This powerful story takes us on a harsh and emotional journey with Simon, the protagonist, through the hell of drug and alcohol abuse. We follow him from the depths of near self-destruction to the difficult road of recovery, with all its challenges, relapses, and moments of fragile hope, until he finally finds light at the end of the tunnel.

At its core, this is also a story about love and friendship - a reminder that the path to salvation becomes more bearable when there’s a helping hand and genuine support.

It’s not an easy story to read. @Jeff Burton is brutally honest in portraying the darkest moments of Simon’s life, never sugarcoating or romanticizing his suffering. But that raw honesty is what makes this story so powerful and necessary - it delivers a strong message, a warning, and a reminder of the devastating power of addiction.
