A Prompting - 6. Sound Bites

Prompt 332, Tag - First Line
"Try it again, and I will kill you!"

"Try it again, and I will kill you!"

"Ah, shut up, Johnny. It's just mud."

"Yeah, but did ya have to hit me so hard, Mark?"

"Don’t be such a big baby."

"Do that thing with your tongue again, Mark."

"You liked that, did ya?"

"Tastes good, like spearmint."

"Scoot over here, Johnny."

"You keep doin' that, you're going to make me fall in love with you."

"Oh yeah? What is it you think I'm doing, Mark?"

"You keep lookin' at me like you do; I can't think right, John."

"Yeah?"

"What do you think about marriage, John?"

"I think it's a good thing."

"What do ya think about marrying me?"

"You know I will, Mark!"

"That's it. They're both off to college, Mark."

"They're good kids, John. We did well."

"What do you want to do now?"

"Let's do some traveling. Just the two of us."

"You look awful tired, John."

"I can't seem to keep my eyes open, Mark."

. . . "John?"

"Johnny . . . "

As always, thank you for reading. Let me know if you like it and drop a line or two or three to let me know what you think.

It's summer. I didn't want to take up too much of anyone's time. Thanks for reading Dave.

The whole lifetime in few short sentences and it was very touching.
A little experiment in words and I'm glad to know it worked. Thanks Suvitar.

What a miniature gem. Wonderful, evocative word pictures drawn with such care and economy.
Thank you for choosing this - I wouldn't have found it otherwise. :)

Economical writing, but so much was said. I loved this, Ron. A love lived, and lived well. I hope John just fell asleep. Cheers... Gary....
