Shane Kelly can command an arena, but not the life being sold in his name.

In 1999, the nineteen-year-old lead singer of the Dream Boys must keep millions of fans believing he might fall for one of them. The truth—that Shane is gay—could threaten the band, the label, and everyone profiting from his fame.

Mike Cooper was hired to protect Shane—and quietly watch him. Months of forced proximity have created trust and attraction, leaving Mike caught between the employers demanding his loyalty and the young man whose trust could cost them both everything.

This is a wonderfully written story that seemed very real to me.  I could feel Shane's resentment that he had to hide who he was.  I could also empathize with Mike's position.  He was hired to protect Shane, yet he also had feeling for him that he wasn't allowed to acknowledge or show.  What will happen and how will this situation be resolved.  Read this very emotional short story to find out.

A very engaging story. The author carries forward the plot through dialogue, there is little description of places, but it's a choice that works, because it focuses on the two central characters, develops their growing relationship and highlights the obstacles in their path. An excellent story, the best so far of those I've read (more than half), I have no idea who the author is, except they're American and older (as pointed out by someone's comment on the map thing) which I'd never heard of and didn't find on Google. Well done!
