he’s hot, the guy in the photograph
muscular
the right side of hairy
scars from his top surgery
just barely visible
he’s a man
a real, actual man
and i can’t tell if
i want him
or want to be him
will i ever look like that?
my face
so soft and feminine
will it ever harden?
can i become
what he is?
what i want to be?
is it what i want to be?

Inspired by a photo in a series on transgender people in, I think it was Bulgaria (or Romania?) that was exhibited at this year's Pride Art at Oslo Pride.
