In the rain-lashed borderlands of the Vexin, Darien Haskal has carved a fragile peace with blood and steel. But when King Radoslav's royal progress arrives, it brings not celebration but a nest of vipers: a scheming duke, a fanatical nun wielding forbidden magic, and the golden knight whose smile hides a blade. As ancient curses awaken and political machinations tighten like a noose, the Vanguard's found family must protect their own—a feral heir, a dying prince, and a love that defies the Church itself. In a fortress perched between kingdoms, war is coming. But the Vanguard has survived the end of the world. They'll survive a dinner party.

The continuing saga of the Baron of Haskell, Wylan, Baroness Val, Lord Julian, Ser Lloyd and the rest of the family are in a castle settling into a semi peaceful existence in a remote area. King Radoslav has ordered the Vanguard to protect the crown from enemies, while hosting the king and his court through a tournament, political upheaval, betrayal, and evil witch. This is a very well written book that you should definitely read! The amazing author is a genius story teller and you will not be disappointed!!! 👏❤️😃

We join Darien and Wylan as they are finally living in peace. The Vanguard are enjoying the peace and quiet.

But Darien has a son, Arteus.

Unfortunately for Darien, Arteus is about to become the most desired teenager in Europe.

The Lords, Religious fanatics, The King's of Frankia and England and there is an evil witch somewhere where in the mix.

Areteus Haskal is about to thrown into a battle of teenage romance, to see which one helps shape the future of the Kingdom. New friends and Old friends are there to protect Arteus.

Bring on the teenagers.

Give it a read, you will not be disappointed.

The First Crusade is over, and Darien and Wylan are finally living peacefully in their castle in Vexin... Or are they? As Duke Haskal himself would say, he'd rather face the entire Fatimid army again than deal with the high politics of the European courts. The stakes are high, and the main prize is young Atreus, Darien's son. The kings of Frankia and England, ambitious dukes, religious fanatics, and even a witch all see Atreus as a piece on the board that could shape the future of the kingdom - and each of them wants to turn him into their puppet. But Atreus is a Haskal, his father's son.

The former kitchen rat and proud heir to the duke is about to do what Haskals do best - earn the loyalty of his men and forge new alliances.

God help Europe - Team Squire 2 is coming!
