Signature Excerpt February Signature Excerpt: Odyssey By Mark Arbour
Cia posted a blog entry in Gay Authors News
Mark Arbour's story, Odyssey, was Monday's Signature Feature. Did you grab your copy of the signature banner so you can share your love for Mark's story? If not, you can do that here! Today we're featuring a great excerpt from the story that shares Mark's great ability to create a vivid world for Mark's main character in the series, George Granger, to explore. Why did Mark pick this story to feature? Mark says: My favorite story is: Odyssey, from the Bridgemont series. I'm really proud of that one because of all the meticulous research I had to do, and how carefully I had to plot out the timeline. I had to get my hero from England, around the world via Indonesia and India, and to Egypt in time for the Battle of the Nile, all of this in 1798. I know CAP is more popular, but that story is my best effort Want to read more? Check out the rest of the story here!- 5 comments

Signature Excerpt January Signature Excerpt: From The Cup Of The Worthless By Cynus
Cia posted a blog entry in Gay Authors News
Cynus's story "From the Cup of the Worthless" was Monday's Signature Feature. Did you grab your copy of the signature banner so you can share your love for Cynus's story? If not, you can do that here! Today we're featuring his chosen excerpt. Cynus says: I chose this excerpt from chapter 10 for a number of reasons. It not only offers a view at the high stakes involved in this organized crime story, but it also shows a number of different connections between the characters, most importantly the connections between Nobuyuki and Viktor, between Nobuyuki and Masahiro (Nobuyuki's father), and the connection between Masahiro and Daisuke (Masahiro's second-in-command). It also offers a view of things to come, but without spoiling the ending, as this scene comes from just before the midpoint in the novel. Want to read more? Signature Excerpt December Signature Excerpt: Alex's Legacy By Valkyrie
Cia posted a blog entry in Gay Authors News
Valkyrie's story, Alex's Legacy, was Monday's Signature Feature. Did you grab your copy of the signature banner so you can share your love for Valkyrie's story? If not, you can do that here! Today we're featuring her chosen excerpt. Valkyrie says: This story started as my response to Prompt 305, although the characters existed before I wrote the prompt. Even though they were created as peripheral characters in another story, they captured my heart, and I wanted to learn their whole story. There's a tie-in to The Hollow Hills, and anyone who can find it earns a gold star. lol I picked this excerpt because it shows the connection between Sam and Alex. It also shows Alex's playful side and the romanticism that's a main feature of the story. Want to read more? Check out the rest of the story here!- 12 comments

Signature Excerpt October Signature Excerpt: Geeks By Cassie Q
Cia posted a blog entry in Gay Authors News
Cassie Q's story, Geeks, was Monday's Signature Feature. Did you grab your copy of the signature banner so you can share your love for Cassie's story? If not, you can do that here! Today we're featuring her chosen excerpt. Cassie says... I like the excerpt because really shows what kind of person Mikeal is like, how he has to think about things for a long time and how something as simple as a kiss can throw him for a loop. It shows how attracted he is to the other boy, even though he's afraid to admit it. One of the things about the story that I like so much is how much Mikeal starts to come out of his shell and becomes more confident when he and the green haired boy (his name is Adam) start to date and fall in love. Signature Excerpt July Signature Excerpt: Light Reaches Earth By Comicality
Cia posted a blog entry in Gay Authors News
Did you catch Monday's post with Comicality's favorite reviews from Light Reaches Earth? Didn't get the graphic for your signature? You can still check it out here. Now we're going to feature Comsie's chosen excerpt. Comicality says... "This story was written for one of the GayAuthor Anthologies, and I really wanted to tell a story with a science fiction edge to it, but mostly existed as an emotionally involving tale of true connection and self discovery. No sexual content needed. Just a narrative on who we are and what we're searching for in this life. Happiness. I hope this story did the trick. I chose this section as an introduction to the meeting between both boys, and the intrigue and fascination that comes with them preparing to match wits on the idea of intelligent life itself in the universe. I hope it will get you all to read more." Want to read more? Check out the rest of the story here!- 2 comments

There's also a banner you can add to your signature if you want to share your love for this story. Get it here! Today we're sharing an excerpt Rob chose. Rob says... It was hard picking one. It's the opening of Chapter 5, where Buzz meets Jed. I like it because it shows the power of their attraction, but then goes to show how messed up Buzz is, the way he was brought up, hiding his feelings vs Jed, who grew up in a more open, modern thinking home. Signature Excerpt January Signature Excerpt: Beloved By Don H
Cia posted a blog entry in Gay Authors News
This December we're featuring Don H's 600k plus story, Beloved, for our Signature week. This story originally brought me to GA, and it's still ongoing six years later. Are you a fan? If you are, make sure you check out Monday's feature showcasing the new Stories ad as well as a downloadable graphic you can place in your signature to spread the love. There are many great moments in this story, but back when I used to follow it, this was one of my favorite between the two main characters, Cam and Kevin. So much happens to both of them, but it's this moment in time where they started to be tested. Did you have a chance to get a copy of the signature graphic posted on Monday's blog, if you want to share your fan appreciation of Don's story? Beloved That's just a small taste of the ups and downs between Kevin and Cam as they face the challenges when life tells you that it's time to grow up. To read more, check out Don H's Beloved!- 1 comment

Signature Excerpt November Signature Excerpt: Circumnavigation By C James
Cia posted a blog entry in Gay Authors News
This month we're featuring CJames' Circumnavigation with a whole new style of Signature features. Monday you probably saw the current ad banner running in Stories, as well as a signature banner fans can use to show their appreciation of his story. If you haven't, go check it out now and download your copy! We also featured several reviews of the story to whet your interest, if you haven't read the story. Now, usually authors will get to choose the excerpt we share on this feature post, the goat has been MIA for some time. I've decided to share the most important part of a story, imo... the initial hook! Circumnavigation Prologue May 15th, 1997 The dawn came as with a thunder, a fitting omen for the day. Fifteen miles northeast of Cocoa Beach, Florida, the catamaran Ares, a fifty-five foot charter boat, bobbed in the light northerly chop. The passengers didn’t mind. Not one bit. Their attention was elsewhere; on a structure just onshore to their northwest, which was a collection of pipes and gantries, topped by a lightning rod and holding a large orange tank astride two smaller white columns. At first glance, it looked like part of an oil refinery. It was, however, something far different: Launchpad 39A of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Watching through her binoculars, Captain Rachel Carlson told her passengers, “The orbiter access arm is retracting. Won’t be long now; about seven minutes.” Rachel tuned a portable radio to NASA’s PA channel, which called out the events leading up to launch. At twenty seconds, they began calling out the countdown, and Rachel smiled as her passengers held their collective breaths. Though it had occurred over ten years before, the Challenger Disaster was still a poignant memory. Read more here or go straight to the story!
