    Chapter 6

I'm so glad that Wade is staying firm and is not about to let Matt sway him into getting back together. Wade is an awesome character. He's strong, determined, brilliant, and an excellent role model to Will. Matt, on the other hand, is vain, flighty, weak minded, and will most likely be a terrible influence on this trip he's taking with Will and Zach. Or history is going to repeat itself while he's trying to get his mojo back, and he'll end up trying to sleep with Zach. I usually grow to love all of the characters you choose to narrate, but Matt is just so awful. He refuses to function without Wade, and then when Wade finally gets through to him that they are not getting back together, Matt immediately blames Wade and starts thinking about old flames to fall back on. He doesn't talk about moving forward with life, its all about how Wade spurned him and is therefore full of bullshit, and how he's gotta look hot so he can go out and score. also, even when Matt "helped" Wade in the past, Wade was the one pushing them forward. Wade was the one who had to deal with Matt's cheating bullshit. There was a brief bright point for Matt when he helped Wade through his dad's molestation, but that was it. He also never seemed to want much to do with Riley, his "partners" son. Sorry, I'm done. Matt just pisses me off with his incessant whining and refusal to accept responsibility for anything. Wade deserves so much better.
  2. God, I hope they don't get married. They'd be an awful long term couple, at least in my mind. Tony would be a complete doormat to Will's stronger and more dominant personality, which Will would hate. He needs someone that can challenge him a bit, and bring him back down from on high when he gets a little too righteously angry. I can't imagine Tony doing that at all. He'd just freak out and hide, or refuse to get involved. I hope that Tony is the guy that cheats on Will and they they have a massive breakup and he ultimately fades to the background. Since Method's so focused on him being a legacy character, he might be, but so is Jeff. And Jeff would be a much better match for Will. He can be a sounding board for Will, which again, I don't see Tony doing, and Jeff is someone that will be there for Will, no matter what happens. I imagine that if something big happened and Will's life suddenly took a turn for the worse, Tony would beat feet the other way. Jeff would stick around and keep Will going, no matter what it took.

    Chapter 2

I find myself hoping that one day Will gets the tables turned on him and that he feels the same pain that Eric must be feeling. The only person I wasn't disappointed with in this chapter was JJ, which is a completely new feeling. Will may be finally acting his age, but I still can't stomach his logic.
  4. I agree with you about the school thing. Will would be offended by the idea the he had gotten by on his family's coattails. I do disagree with you about the community service. Habitat for Humanity would be cool, but I don't think that's what Will would choose. I think he'd go with something that he was actually concerned about, and though he cares about the community and people in need, it's not of much importance to him. Anything to do with water on the other hand... I think he'd be much more likely to choose Save the Bay or work with the Marine Science Institute. Or any other program that involved beach clean-up or restoration.
  5. I think the whole cheating issue is less about right and wrong, and more about responsibility. In situations like Kyle and Eric's, it is Kyle's job to choose not to cheat, but if he doesn't have the strength to, then it's up to Will what happens next. He could go for it and make himself happy, which I'm not saying is a bad thing. But then he could also think about how much pain their tryst is going to cause Eric, and decide to say no to Kyle on that basis. Who really wants to know that they're the cause of someone else's pain, whether the blame rests on their shoulders or not? But then again, Will doesn't have much experience with how other people feel. Most things he does are for his own benefit, such as with Kyle and Tony and the emancipation and moving up to Escorial. Some of them good decisions, some of them not, but he does have a record of doing things for his own comfort. Also, he's a 14 year old kid with a mass of wealth far more than most 14 year olds even dream about. Pretty much a recipe for douchebaggery, though it does seem like JJ got most of that gene. I love Will, he's a great guy at heart. I just hope next time he realizes that sometimes, his own comfort comes at a great price to others. I agree. Half of Brad's story was all about ethics, if you thought about it hard enough. And pretty much every major decision that anyone makes in CAP has some kind of moral or ethical hint to it; even when it's the decision of whether or not to choose the amoral route. CAP is riddled with time old questions about philosophy and morality, which is part of the reason why it's so good. It's a testament to Mark's skill as an author that he is able to combine all of these elements so well in a story like this.

    Chapter 5

I just realized that I hadn't responded to any reviews in a while, so sorry for that! Thank you so much for reading, and I believe you will find out just what he thinks in chapter six

Thanks! It's just as fun for me, since they kind of take over my brain as I write and just use my fingers to badger with each other(:

    Chapter 6

I stayed huddled downstairs for the remainder of the day, writing my cover letter and application for the local middle school I was hoping to get hired at. I had wanted to bring it up to have Logan look it over once I was done, but that wasn’t going to happen now. Tears jumped back into my eyes as I thought about him. What had I done? I set my laptop aside, no longer able to concentrate on listing out all of my references. What had I done wrong? Maybe he was frustrated with the new side of my
  9. I find it interesting that no one has mentioned Jeff. I think he's been set up to have an important part somewhere in the next story, be it small or large. Selfishly, I hope that he and Will get together more seriously. They compliment each other nicely, though they both have their own issues to overcome before anything could happen. I can see them being really good friends while Jeff's in college and Will's going through high school, and then developing into something more in the time afterwards. At least, I hope so. Ryan's been talked about a lot, but I think that is pretty much over. I don't see him playing a part at all in the future when it comes to Will. He will of course be in the story somewhere, since he's Jeff's half brother. Tony and Will will also come to a close eventually; Tony's too much of a coward for Will to put up with it for long, especially as he matures.
  10. Does anybody else get annoyed when authors don't use contractions? I hate it when I start reading and all I see is this; "Jason, do not leave! I promise that I will get better. I will not do it again!" It's terrible visually, because everything seems so dramatic and unnatural. If you just use some apostrophes, it gets so much better. "Jason, don't leave! I promise I'll get better. I won't do it again!" I won't read a story if I see this happening. Unfortunately, a lot of authors write like this, which sucks, 'cause often the plot is great, the characters are great, it's just the dialogue that I can't get past.

    Chapter 1

A girl cries out for help. She's alone. The ones who called her beautiful gone, fallen away with their falsities and shallow words. The ones she loved turn away, her pain a disease they have no wish to catch. She's shrouded in darkness. Her skin ripped from her skin by her own fingernails. Her clothes in tatters and her hair wild with fear. She screams silently, her mouth open in agony. She claws at her chest, desperate to rid herself of the offensive organ within her. With every pound

    Chapter 5

That was kind of the point of this chapter, haha. I meant for it to show their insecurities and the progression of their relationship. It's pretty much just a set up for the next chapter, which is why it didn't necessarily move the story along. As for their conflicting views on their relationship, remember that at the beginning of this chapter, Ryan was still confident in himself and Logan, he just didn't understand what was going on. Then at the end, Logan's mad at him and Ryan no longer has that confidence. He regresses back to the mindset he was in when he first came to the house. Logan's upset about something, though we don't know quite why yet. As I said, chapter 6 set up! Thank you for saying your mind, it gives me the chance to go back and rewrite with a better idea of what's actually getting through to the people reading. So much of the story is just in my head, and sometimes it's hard to make sure everything got through to you guys the way I wanted it to. Thanks again, and I hope you keep enjoying it(:

    Chapter 5

“Logan! We do not need any more snacks!” Goddamnit was he trying to piss me off? First this morning he uses the stairs as a playground for Bailey and Oscar, throwing tennis balls down at my door at seven in the morning. He’s been pulling all these ridiculous stunts ever since that first kiss. I know he wants me to sleep upstairs with him but…. I-I’m just not ready for that yet. He hasn’t explicitly said anything; he just finds excuses every night to keep me upstairs for five minutes longer. A
