Bo, a neurotic otter with a deadline and a questionable relationship with his houseplants, sets out to write the perfect Creature Feature.

A decade after drifting apart, four millennial friends who once bonded online reunite at a secluded cabin, answering an invitation from the friend who always promised they would one day meet. As old memories resurface and new ones take shape, one question lingers:

Where is Chris?

This story is my very loose take on PT Prompt #301: Choose a sense and then describe something related to that sense to someone lacking that sense.

Originally a throwaway parody in The Straightest Lies We Tell Ourselves, this story lassos the cowboy trope of a city boy in search of himself and drags it straight, or not so straight, into a cowboy crisis.

Austin never expected his erotic novella would get him bent over in court.
But here he is.
Legally gagged.
Possibly screwed.
And definitely misconstrued.

Ben Gay just wanted to tell the truth and get his story straight.

That was his first mistake.

The second was thinking anyone would believe him.

Twin brothers.
One is gay.
The other is haunted... probably.

It's also, quite literally, the least gay thing I've posted on GA.

Jake Henderson has a husband.

And a habit of ending up in Haven Cooper’s bed.

Haven’s rich, reckless, and beautiful in the way bad decisions usually are.

He makes guilt feel like seduction, and walking away feel like losing.

Jake tells himself it’s just an affair.

But lines blur quickly when ego and obsession start to look like love, and control starts to feel like safety.

In a city full of glass towers and dark corners, the real danger isn’t in being watched.

It’s what happens when no one’s watching.
