Heading to San Diego, any tips

I know it's not San Fran, but I can't resist the call of the wild and shamu III :P

 

Any travel tips or ideas? Any gay travel things I can do in the city, like shows or clubs. Not looking to hook up, but I wouldn't mind meeting some So Cal guys either :D

Last time I was there I went to the beach in Coronado. There were fighter planes flying overhead heading to the landing strip nearby. Was kinda cool....

I like the La Jolla area myself.  I recommend going there, visiting Scripps Pier and Birch Aquarium.  A lot of people like Old Town San Diego, but I think the mexican food isn't really any better there.  The downtown San Diego harbor tour is cool as well.  You usually get to go past naval aircraft carriers, which are cool. :D
