Ray Price dead at 87

Many of you youngsters have no idea who Ray Price is. I used to wake up to him singing on Saturday mornings at my home. My Dad loved him. If you want to hear some wonderful and heartfelt music, Google Ray Price Greatest Hits. 'For the Good Times is wonderful, but I love so much of his music. I know this shows my age, but music like this should be remembered, and revered. May this iconic Country singer be remembered with respect and love.

No disrespect to the individual, I didn't like country even though I had to listen to this stuff when I was a kid. It didn't stick and I can't stomach it as an adult.

He was a great singer. I grew up with country music, and loved listening to Ray Price. His voice was velvet. R.I.P. Mr. Price.

Music is part of our lives. As you expressed here, a certain type of music, a musician, takes up a place in our lives that is personal but it also connects us with others. Music is a shared experience, a social fabric. You'll be able to enjoy Ray Price and the memories his music holds forever. I am sure with a little digging you could find his influences in later generations of musicians.

I was raised in a family where all kinds of music was appreciated.   My mom loves "Make the world go away".

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about the death of Ray Price. I am 76 and he is one of my all time favourite singers, country or otherwise. My father loved him too.
