The weather has turned, and it's rainy... which reminded me of a story from a past anthology I really enjoyed. Renee has announced a special anthology redo for 2016 allowing members to pick any--or all--past anthologies they didn't participate in to feature a new story. One of the older anthologies I really enjoyed was "Worth Fighting For" and my favorite story of that series was this one, so I hope you'll enjoy it too!

As a small aside, the name of the story is a small joke. The theme of the anthology before this one was "The Rainy Day". C James joked that I had mixed up my anthologies :P

It's too hot here to write, so I took the opportunity to read this story. From start to finish, it held me in its grip. It must have been exhausting for Brat to hold his family together for so long. I was left with a feeling of great relief. Stephen turned out to be a gem, as did this story. Thanks for the heads up, Cia, and kudos to Graeme for pinging most of my emotions. Cheers... Gary

I read this story two years ago, and I thought it was just terrific.

 

Graeme is such a gifted author, and he had me hanging on every word.

 

In fact, I think I may reread the story. :)
