Prompts Writing Prompts #450 & #451
So here we are at the first Friday of October. Is it me or is the year just flying by? Anyway, I hope everyone has been having a good week. Since is it once again Friday, I'm here to present to you some new prompts. As always, if your work is under 1,000 words you have to place into a collection. And now to give you something new to entice you to write.
Prompt 450 – Creative
Tag – List of Words
Use the following in a story – an apple, a farm, hay, a horse, a diamond ring
Prompt 451 – Creative
Tag – The Fair
It is time for the annual County Fair. Having been dragged to it, you find yourself surrounded by people and things you normally don’t see. What is the fair like?
Naturally, it is now time to look back at what our writers decided to do with the prompts from last week.
Again there was clearly a favorite among those who chose to write and that was prompt 448. The prompt asked that you use the line - "What did he just say?"
Puppilull decided to continue the Vampire tale begun in another prompt.
What did he just say?” I thought to myself.
I couldn’t believe my ears and just stared at him. “You did what?!”
From his fidgeting and refusal to meet my eyes, I realized I was perhaps overreacting and being a bit too harsh.
“Just tell me what happened…” I tried to soften my approach to get him to open up.
“The phone rang. I thought it was you…” He snuck a peak at me trying to gauge my reaction. “You wanting something, so I just answered.” He lowered his eyes, looking like he had been hurt by my outburst.
“It’s ok, just tell me who it was and what you said.” I reached out and steered him towards the sofa. We sat down next to each other. He still wouldn’t look at me.

ATrueFan also took a shot at this prompt.
"What did he just say?” I asked Kevin, totally floored by what I just thought I heard.
“You know exactly what he said, Ronnie..He said he’s gay.” Kevin replied; a smirk on his face.
Bill has been friends with Kevin and I for his entire life. But for him to come out to us, today, on his 14th Birthday, well...it kind of surprised me. Don’t get me wrong, if I had the balls to do what he did, maybe I’d have a boyfriend.
“I just can’t believe it, Billy. You don’t seem gay to me. I guess it’s not really that much of a surprise. I’ve known something was different about you, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.”

Parker Owens also decided this worth a chance to explore.
What did he just say? I wanted to check my ears. I wasn't sure that I'd heard my colleague across the table from me correctly. Did he really just come out to me like that?
But he was still talking. "I just thought you needed to know that about me right now, so you can decide."
I examined my friend seated on the other side of the small square restaurant table. Eyes a little too bright, hands folded in front of him with the appearance of calm, but full of tension. The taut tendons above the knuckles gave it away.
"Decide what?" I parried.
"If you still want to go through with this. You know, be, er…friends, I guess." He looked embarrassed and anxious and ready to dart away.
So yet another story for you to explore. His story is found here - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/parker-owens/aquinasleaps/1
JamesSavik gives us yet another unique take on this.
“What did he just say?”
"It sounded like run."
Gary's squad had discovered another batch of ruins that the cadets had all agreed to investigate. Although the ruins appeared to be ancient, they were quite advanced in construction. They were very much ruined with time but the stone work was superb. The joints in the stones were so well constructed with tolerances so tight that the interiors of the buildings were bone dry and full of curious artifacts and relics. There were tantalizing signs that a somewhat advanced civilization had one thrived on this planet but there were no clues to what happened to them. Had they lost the struggle to survive against the deadly fauna on this planet?
Allister said, "But, Gary hates to run."

Thecalimac based his story off of his fall Anthology.
"What did he just say?"
Noel looked up from his book and saw Nathan braced on their table in the booth, ready to launch himself at the offender. "Let it go, Nathan. He just called us faggots."
"No one calls my boy a faggot." Nathan gritted his teeth. As an off-duty Marine, he didn't take that kind of shit from anybody. That wasn't an affectionate 'faggot' call; it was a hiss, a derisive remark that would earn the poor bastard a new set of dentures. "Babe, wait here. I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind!"
"Don't," Noel argued, calmly but urgently. He had a hand on Nathan's right away. "Let it go. You don't want homicide or civilian brutality to go on your record."

Our final entry is from Timothy M.
“What did he just say?”
“Nothing.”
“Come on, bro.”
“That’s all he said. I asked him what was wrong, and he said ‘Nothing’ and ran off to the bathroom.”
“And you let him?”
“Well, I could hardly stop him, if he really needed to go.”

So another week comes to an end. Hopefully next week there will be all sorts of new prompt stories to share with you. Remember to read, comment, and tell your friends about the stories and authors you enjoy. It helps to introduce people to new stories and gives a boost to the author. Till next time, be safe and well.
