Midway through January, and it's time to feature a new ad designed for one of our Signature Authors! This month's author is Don H, and the feature is his still ongoing serial (now over 500k!) story, Beloved. For all of our fans of coming of age stories, this is one of the long-time epics available on GA.

Description: Cameron MacKenzie and Kevin Stolz had been best friends and almost brothers their entire life. When a series of bad things happens to their families, the boys find themselves getting closer than they ever considered before.

Cynaira says... Thank you for this wonderful story. I have been following it for quite awhile now. Cam's struggle with his recovery, the love in this family. The emotions you put into the story. Now, Father Mason's struggle. He has flown to the right home to work through his troubles. Will patiently wait for your next chapter as they are always worth the wait.

I read Working It Out 1,2,3 a long time ago... and then I read them all again. Don is a wonderful writer, and I would hope, at some point, I will revisit Mike and Matt. The length of this is daunting, and I was waiting for it to be complete, but now I'm thinking I should try and start it soon. Thank you for the reminder that it is out there, waiting....

As did Working It Out, this story also deals with some religious contexts made all the more interesting by the rapidity of real world events that out paced Beloved, which was first posted about the time Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI was elected as Pope, and about the time Proposition 8 was adopted by referendum. Now, of course, Francis is now Pope, and Same sex marriage was held constitutional last summer in the Obergefell decision, and Don has subtly handled the real world changes without having to revise or rewrite the story. It does show what a masterful storyteller Don is, and I always look forward to the next chapter!
