for me i hope it is about the real stuff. i'm not D or s, just want to understand better. be able to ask a question or 2 (or more) and not be judged or laughed at.

Let me just say, asking questions can be crucial, especially in the beginning of a BDSM relationship. Through questions, both the Dominant and submissive can learn each others limits,

I wasn't going to get into anything serious here. I thought there would be a PM group organized for that.

That was what I hope, too. Discussing seriously and open minded.

I don't have first hand experience with BDSM, but I've actually learned a bit about it a while ago. :) In fact, a GA friend gave me a bit of a run down a couple years ago. He's a Dominant in a polyamorous relationship with two subs, and his story on here deals with D/s.

However, I'd definitely like to hear what others have to say on the subject, see where y'all agree and disagree with him.

I bet, you will hear a lot of different views, agrees and disagrees. BDSM can be as diverse as any other topic.

Question; will we also be discussing how BDSM is portrayed in literature? (i.e. 50 Shades of Gray, or more specifically in LGBT stories).

If you feel the need, I do not really, but I can cope.

Good night all, I need to sleep. Curious what to read here in the morning.

No. He hasn't been on GA in months. :/ I miss him, though.

don't you mean 50 shades of abuse. i still say if the guy had lived in a trailer, it would be an episode on Law & Order:SUV

What I'm thinking is, how and where 50 Shades got it wrong. And maybe discuss examples of novels that gave a much more accurate portrayal of BDSM.

I do wonder how the PMs are going to start. I want open discussion. However; their are some things I won't share publicly.

What I will do, is look through my old PM's and quote (indirectly) what he said to me.

Then I won't touch on that topic and focus more on actual BDSM relationships. :)
