Camping out in big sky country is better when you have a hot buckaroo to bunk down with.

Born and raised in the West, this is a very common fantasy of mine.

Buckaroo was the anglicized version of the Spanish word vaquero  used by Americans settling in the Spanish owned lands of SW America. It’s first known use was in 1827.   Both words mean cowboy.  The ‘v’ in Spanish is pronounce as a ‘b’ in English, so Baquero sounds similar to buckaroo.  Vacca is Latin for cow, hence the origin of vaquero date back to Roman times.  The Sanskrit for cow is somewhat similar to the Latin word, and may be related.
