When I was a kid, it seemed that every time I went fishing my line would get entwined in something along the shore.  Since there weren't a lot of places that I could go fishing at the time, I had to learn how to deal with the situation.  

Just so you know, entwined and intertwined have the same meaning, but entwined is the present tense and intertwined is the past tense.  

You start out trying to write a short story and the characters and plot get entwined, and before you know it, you've got a three hundred thousand word trilogy.

I wake up with my husband entwined.  Unfortunately, he's entwined in the bed covers and not me. 🤨
